Abstract

Nogogeni Team from Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS)the first time to participated in Formula Student by SAE Australasia 2020 which supposed to be held in Winton Raceway Australia in 2020. Chassis is one of the powerful aspects that support vehicle performance. determining safety factor value and torsion stiffness that comes from front impact simulation, side impact and torsional rigidty. This load simulation using Finite Element Methed (FEM) to earn the result in easier way.
The testing in this study was preceded by the study of literature on a variety of sources. Next is to perform load calculations that include the load when side impact, front impact as well as torsional load.At the time of the side impact trial where the charge imposed varied to V1 speed on the side structure of the Chassis Nogogeni. with V1 worth 5.55 m/s, 11.11 m/s, 22.22 m/s. Combined Stress obtained is 157.87 MPa, 161.81 MPa and 243.73 MPa of 2.21, 2.16 and 1.4 MPa respectively. Front impact trial With maximum combined stress stress results of 291.95 MPa, 328.84 MPa and 365.6 MPa. with a safety factor value of 1.19, 1.06 and 0.95 Conducted Torsional testing using variables 0.1 W to 1 W obtained torsional stiffness results of 740.0787 Nm / Deg
