Abstract

The offshore platform is used to carry out offshore oil and gas activities. When a structure has been operating for a specified operating life, the structure must be immediately decommissioned. The decommission activity of offshore platforms is carried out based on three methods of dismantling options, namely Partial Removal, Complete Removal, and Leave in Place. In the decommissioning process, there are risks that can endanger and harm the decommissioning process. So that in the decommissioning process, it is necessary to select the right decommissioning method and analyze the risks that may occur during the decommissioning process. In this study, an analysis of the risks that occur in the determined method of decommissioning the jacket structure was carried out. The choice of method of decommissioning of offshore platforms can be done using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) Method. The risk assessment that may occur is analyzed using the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis method to obtain a Risk Priority Number. The results of the research show that the appropriate decommissioning method is based on a case study, namely the Complete Removal method, which is determined based on four variables, namely safety, cost, environmental impact, and technical feasibility. In the Complete Removal method, the explosion failure mode of the equipment has also been obtained when dismantling the equipment is the most prioritized risk.
