Abstract

Kestabilan transien menjadi salah satu aspek yang perlu diperhatikan dalam suatu sistem tenaga listrik agar sistem tersebut memiliki reliabilitas yang baik. PT. Linde Indonesia merupakan bagian dari perusahaan multinasional, The Linde Group. Salah satu pabriknya berada di Kabupaten Gresik yang bergerak di bidang Air Separation Unit. Salah satu gangguan seperti hubung singkat tiga fasa dapat mengganggu kestabilan sistem. Oleh sebab itu, sistem proteksi yang berupa rele arus lebih dan Circuit Breaker (CB) harus bekerja untuk mengisolasi gangguan tersebut dalam waktu tertentu. Critical Clearing Time (CCT) adalah batas waktu maksimum sistem proteksi untuk mengisolasi gangguan supaya sistem tetap stabil. Maka, rele dan CB harus bekerja dalam batas nilai CCT. Kurva batas kestabilan transien merupakan kurva yang membatasi daerah stabil dan tidak stabil yang dapat menjadi acuan untuk setting rele arus lebih. Metode penelitan untuk Tugas Akhir ini yaitu simulasi untuk mendapatkan nilai hubung singkat maksimum dan nilai CCT dari tiap titik gangguan, sehingga didapatkan Critical Clearing Points. Kemudian titik-titik terluar digunakan untuk menyusun kurva batas kestabilan transien. Hasil yang didapatkan dari evaluasi yaitu beberapa kurva rele arus lebih berpotongan dengan kurva batas kestabilan, sehingga resetting diperlukan. Resetting dilakukan dengan menurunkan nilai time dial untuk kurva overcurrent yang berpotongan. Selain itu, penambahan setting kedua untuk parameter instantaneous dari kurva definite yang berpotongan dengan time delay 0,1 s. Dengan adanya resetting, maka rele arus lebih dan CB mampu mengamankan gangguan hubung singkat dan tetap menjaga kestabilan transien sistem.

Transient stability is one aspect that needs to be considered in an electrical power system so that the system has good reliability. PT. Linde Indonesia is part of a multinational company, The Linde Group. One of the factories is located in Gresik Regency which is engaged in Air Separation Unit. One of the disturbances such as a three-phase short circuit can destabilize the system. Therefore, a protection system in the form of overcurrent relays and Circuit Breakers (CB) must work to isolate the disturbance within a certain time. Critical Clearing Time (CCT) is the maximum time limit for the protection system to isolate disturbances so that the system remains stable. So, the relay and CB must work within the limits of the CCT value. The transient stability limit curve is a curve that limits the stable and unstable regions which can be used as a reference for overcurrent relay settings. The research method for this final project is a simulation to get the maximum short circuit value and the CCT value from each fault point, so that Critical Clearing Points are obtained. Then, the outermost points are used to construct the transient stability limit curve. The results obtained from the evaluation are that several overcurrent relay curves intersect with the stability limit curve, so resetting is required. The resetting is done by lowering the time dial setting value for the overcurrent curves that intersect. Also, adding the second setting for the instantaneous parameter of the definite curve that intersects with a time delay of 0.1 s. With resetting, the overcurrent relays and Circuit Breakers are able to secure the system when short circuit occurs and maintain the transient stability.
