Abstract

Generally, installation work is carried out in fabrication (onshore). But, in some cases installation must be done on-site (offshore). Just like this installation of pig receiver, this pig receiver was added to the existing offshore platform that was installed on Ujung Pangkah Field Gresik. The dimensions of the pig receiver are 7.11 m in length, 0.75 m wide, and 1.88 m in height. The weight of this pig receiver is about 1.995 MT. Although every job has risks, offshore installation has its risks. So, we should do the risk analysis for pig receiver installation offshore. This analysis is to find out what risk that may occur during the installation of the pig receiver. From this analysis, there are three highest risks. First, personnel fall, pinched or slipped during the installation of lifting gears. Second, sparks during habitat installation. Third, Manual handling during habitat installation. For additional mitigation we do resistance assessment for the sling which in this case the sling has a reliability of 0.992857 or about 99.29%.
