Abstract

========================================================================================================
Indonesia is a tectovolcanic country with many active volcanoes with 129 active volcanoes in Indonesia. Mount Sinabung is one of the active volcanoes in Indonesia. The existence of volcanoes in Indonesia certainly has a positive impact on Indonesia as the area around the mountain will become fertile and at the same time have a negative impact because disasters will often occur. In certain volcanoes there is magma activity in it, magma activity in active volcanoes can result in changes in shape due to movement and shifting of soil on the surface of the volcano which is called deformation. Deformation that occurs on the surface of the volcano can be identified by various methods, both terrestrial and extra-terrestrial. Terrestrial can be done using theodolite, Sipat land or Global Positioning System (GPS). Meanwhile extra-terrestrial can be stiffened by processing Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) image data with Interferometry Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) processing methods, Differential InSAR (D-InSAR), Multi Temporal InSAR (MT-InSAR) which includes Permanent Scatterers InSAR (PS-InSAR) and Small Baseline Subset (SBAS). This research was conducted to determine the deformation that occurs in Sinabung Volcano using sentinel 1B image data using the PS-InSAR method by using the Sentinel Application Platform (SNAP) in preprocessing and post-processing with the Stanford Method for PS (StaMPS). The results of the PS-InSAR processing carried out a random selection of PS points representing mountains to model the position of the magma compression source using the Yokoyama model. The Yokoyama model assumes that the earth's crust is composed of elastic half space, and the pressure source is a small spherical space with unidirectional hydrostatic pressure and radial expansion. The SAR data used consists of 15 Sentinel 1B SLC images with an acquisition date of October 1 to December 31, 2020 consisting of 7 images with ascending acquisition and 8 images with descending acquisition. By processing the image in ascending and descending ways, the line of sight (LOS) velocity rate can be transformed into horizontal and vertical shift values. The results of PS-InSAR processing show the line of sight (LOS) velocity rate that occurs in the range of -394.1 mm/year to 320.7 mm/year in ascending and descending order shows the line of sight (LOS) velocity rate that occurs in the range at -277.5 mm/year up to 315.8 mm/year. The value of horizontal shift (dH) and vertical shift (dZ) of PS points used for modeling the magma pressure center PS1 is (0.288; -0.037) meters, PS2 points are (0.004; 0.010) meters and PS3 points are (0.041, -0.084 ) meters. So that the position of the center of magma pressure using the horizontal shift value on Mount Sinabung based on the Yokoyama model is located at coordinates 03°10'02.64”N and 98°24'26.64”E at a depth of 11850 meters with a constant P/μ value of 0 ,43. Meanwhile, the position of the magma pressure center using a vertical shift value is located at coordinates 03°09'54,72,64"N and 98°24'18,36"E at a depth of 11250 meters with a constant P/μ value of 0.0023.
