Abstract

Telah dibuat generator gas HHO tipe dry cell dengan 16 plat elektroda yang memiliki luasan 15x15 cm, sumber daya yang digunakan yaitu power supplay PSMS 24 Volt 10 Ampere. Generator HHO ini berfungsi menghasilkan gas HHO atau brown gas melalui proses elektrolisis. Proses elektrolisis dilakukan dengan bantuan larutan katalisator yaitu KOH 1.5 M untuk mempercepat proses elektrolisis serta mengurangi energi aktivasi. Terdapat 3 jenis plat elektroda dalam proses elektrolisis yaitu plat netral, anoda dan katoda. Pada penelitian ini terdapat perbedaan konfigurasi susunan plat elektroda sebagai variasi penelitian. Konfigurasi plat yang digunakan bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh konfigurasi plat elektroda terhadap nilai flow rate dan tekanan dari generator HHO serta suhu dari mesin las. besarnya suhu mesin las yang dihasilkan dipengaruhi oleh besarnya tekanan dan flow rate gas HHO. Semakin besar nilai tekanan dan flow rate maka akan semakin besar pula suhu yang dihasilkan. Pada penelitian ini variasi 2 yang tersusun dari 3 plat elektroda positif, 3 plat elektroda negatif, dan 10 plat elektroda netral mampu menghasilkan produksi gas HHO paling optimal. dengan nilai Tekanan maksimum yang dapat dicapai sistem sebesar 99,23±0,01 KPa dan flow rate tertinggi sebesar 0,02062451 L/s. Adapun mesin las menghasulkan suhu api tertinggi yang dapat dicapai oleh sistem dengan jarak pengukuran 10 cm sebesar 559,58±0,010C dan tinggi api maksimal yang dihasilkan sistem adalah setinggi 5,5±0,5 cm.

A dry cell HHO gas generator has been made with 16 electrode plates which have an area of 15x15 cm, the power source used is 24 Volt 10 Ampere PSMS power supply. This generator functions to produce HHO gas or brown gas through the electrolysis process. The electrolysis process was carried out with the help of a catalyst solution, namely 1.5 M KOH to accelerate the electrolysis process and reduce the activation energy. There are 3 types of electrode plates in the electrolysis process, namely the neutral plate, anode and cathode. In this study, there are differences in the configuration of the electrode plate arrangement as a variation of the study. The plate configuration used aims to determine the effect of the electrode plate configuration on the flow rate and pressure of the HHO generator and the temperature of the welding machine. the temperature of the welding machine produced is influenced by the amount of pressure and flow rate of HHO gas. The greater the value of pressure and flow rate, the greater the temperature produced. In this study, variation 2 which consists of 3 positive electrode plates, 3 negative electrode plates, and 10 neutral electrode plates is able to produce the most optimal HHO gas production. with the maximum pressure that the system can achieve is 99.23±0,01 KPa and the highest flow rate is 0.02062451 L/s. The welding machine produces the highest flame temperature that can be achieved by the system with a measurement distance of 10 cm at 559,58±0,010C and the maximum flame height produced by the system is as high as 5.5±0.5 cm.
