Abstract

Industri maritim merupakan salah satu industri pengolahan sumber daya alam yang memanfaatkan baja sebagai komponen utamanya. Berbagai penelitian serta perkembangan dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kualitas serta umur pakai dari baja tersebut. Baja karbon ringan ASTM A36 merupakan salah satu varian baja yang umum digunakan pada struktur bangunan lepas pantai karena keunggulan sifatnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh tambahan nano-alumina sebesar 0%, 1,5% dan 3% pada coating epoxy.terhadap kekuatan adhesi, tahanan abrasif serta prediksi laju korosi. Pada pengujian daya lekat nilai kekuatan adhesi tertinggi didapatkan pada variasi campuran sebanyak 0% dengan nilai sebesar 7,7022 MPa. Pada pengujian ketahanan abrasif nilai ketahanan tertinggi didapatkan dengan variasi campuran sebanyak 3% dengan nilai sebesar 16.7 gram. Sedangkan pada pengujian prediksi laju korosi nilai laju korosi terendah didapatkan pada variasi campuran sebanyak 1,5% dengan nilai sebesar 0,00018 mmpy.

Maritime industry is one of the natural resources management industry that using steel as their fundamental components. Many research and development has been conducted in order to increase the quality and life span of the steel that being used. ASTM A36 low-carbon steel is one of the steel variant that used commonly on offshore structures because of their advantages. This research was conducted to achieve the additional effect of nano-alumina of 0%, 1,5% and 3% in the epoxy coating on adhesive strength, abrasive resistance and corrosion rate prediction. At pull-off testing the highest adhesion strength was obtained at a mixed variation of 0% with a value of 7,7022 MPa. At the abrasion resistance test the highest abrasion resistance was obtained at a mixed variation of 3% with a value of 16.7 gram. As for the lowest value of corrosion rate prediction test was obtained on mixed variation of 1.5% with a value of 0.005410622 mmpy.
