Abstract

=====================================================================================================
Bali is a part of the non-Western Indonesia region (which is often referred to as East Indonesia, instead of Central Indonesia) which has a well-known international identity compared to other regions. And often uses the creative industry as a 'weapon' to introduce Balinese culture to people and the world. However, only 3 of the Indonesia‘s creative industry sub-sectors are facilitated by the government for their development, marketing, and promotion purpose. Meanwhile, in the western part of Indonesia, especially the capital city, Jakarta, the creative industry has begun to develop in sub-sectors related to pop culture and the development of Intellectual Property (IP). This has proven to be successful in producing IP that goes international while carrying local wisdom in the format of films, animations, games, visual arts, and so on. This causes a gap creative economic development between the two regions of Indonesia
This Creative Center design is present as a concept place to develop skills and improve the quality of IP pop culture works for creators of eastern Indonesia. Presented with a socio-cultural approach, and human-centered design methods that refer to the context of the user, this design will focus on collaborative and interactive activities between creative industry players, be they creators, audiences, investors, and the government. The concept presented will also be directed at training new talents in creative work, as well as developing the skills of creators who are more developed so that they are able to improve the quality, brand, and promote the work of the East Indonesian pop culture creative industry, with Bali having a good international identity as a pioneer in runnig the concept of creative economy ‘catalyst‘.
