Abstract

Bencana merupakan sebuah peristiwa yang menimbulkan berbagai dampak negatif dalam beberapa sektor. Salah satu bencana yang cukup terkenal yaitu fenomena lumpur lapindo, Sidoarjo. Beberapa dampak negatif yang ditimbulkan meliputi, sektor perekonomian, rusaknya sarana dan prasarana, serta munculnya ancaman bencana lain ke depan. Sehingga bencana ini menjadi penting untuk direspon dan diperlukan sebuah upaya yang efektif dalam menanggapi ancaman bencana yakni, usaha pada tahap pencegahan dan kesiapsiagaan sebelum bencana untuk mengurangi risiko yang ditimbulkan. Namun, pengetahuan akan mitigasi bencana baik fisik maupun non-fisik di masyarakat dirasa masih kurang akibat sedikitnya wadah yang menaungi kegiatan mitigasi bencana secara intens. Objek rancangan yang dihasilkan adalah ruang publik berupa pusat edukasi dan riset yang mendukung rangkaian mitigasi pra-bencana di kawasan lumpur yang ditujukan bagi masyarakat baik di dalam maupun di luar kawasan, serta beberapa peneliti agar dapat mengembangkan asset dan constraint di kawasan tersebut. Secara keseluruhan, pusat edukasi dan riset bencana lumpur Sidoarjo ini bertujuan sebagai wadah edukasi, menstimulus kewaspadaan, sarana simulasi, serta penelitian dan pengembangan dalam jangka panjang. Kerangka konsep sebagai stimulator yang berusaha diusulkan dan didukung dengan pendekatan arsitektur perilaku disini adalah dengan cara men-setting pengalaman pada ruang menggunakan metode narrative design, dimana setiap ruang ini hadir dengan suasana yang mendukung cerita maupun kegiatan didalamnya dan disusun secara runtut sehingga memiliki kesatuan cerita/proses dalam menerima informasi pada objek rancangan.

A disaster is an event that causes various negative impacts in several sectors. One of the most well-known disasters is the Lapindo mudflow phenomenon, Sidoarjo. Some of the negative impacts include the economic sector, damaged facilities and infrastructure, as well as the emergence of other disasters in the future. So that an effective effort is needed and important in responding to the threat of a disaster, namely, mitigation or efforts made at the pre-disaster prevention and preparedness stages to reduce the risks that are caused. However, knowledge of disaster mitigation, both physical and non-physical in the community, is still lacking due to the lack of an intensive forum for disaster mitigation activities. The resulting design object is a public space in the form of a center for education and research that supports a series of pre-disaster mitigation on mud disasters aimed at communities both inside and outside the area, as well as several researchers in order to develop assets and constraints in the area. Overall, the Sidoarjo mud disaster education and research center aim to be a forum for education, stimulating vigilance, a means of simulation, and long-term research and development. The concept as stimulator that trying to be proposed and supported by behavioral architecture approach in here is by setting the experience in space using narrative design methods, where each of these spaces comes with an atmosphere that supports the story and activities in it and then arranged in a sequence so it has a unity of a story/process in receiving information on the design object.
