Abstract

Pengaplikasian polimer kitosan amilum dengan penambahan glutaraldehid untuk adsorpsi pewarna metilen biru telah dilakukan. Kemampuan adsorpsi diperoleh dari kondisi optimum (pH, waktu kontak, dan konsentrasi awal) yang dilakukan dengan metode batch untuk mengetahui kapasitas adsorpsi, beserta model adsorpsi isotermalnya. Filtrat hasil adsorpsi diukur dengan spektrofotometer UV-Vis pada panjang gelombang maksimum 664 nm. Kondisi optimum adsorpsi diperoleh pada pH 7, waktu kontak 30 menit, serta konsentrasi awal 25 ppm dengan kapasitas adsorpsinya adalah 1,86 mg/g. Model adsorpsi isotermal yang didapatkan pada penelitian ini adalah Langmuir dengan nilai R2 sebesar 0,9967.

The application of starch chitosan polymer with the addition of glutaraldehyde for the adsorption of methylene blue dye has been studied. The adsorption ability was obtained from the optimum conditions (pH, contact time, and initial concentration) which was studied using the batch method to determine the adsorption capacity, along with the isothermal adsorption model. The adsorption filtrate was measured by UV-Vis spectrophotometer at a maximum wavelength of 664 nm. The optimum adsorption conditions were obtained at pH 7, contact time of 30 minutes, and initial concentration of 25 ppm with adsorption capacity of 1.86 mg/g. The isothermal adsorption model obtained in this study is Langmuir with an R2 value of 0.9967.
