Abstract

Kapal pelayaran rakyat adalah Kapal yang berguna untuk usaha rakyat yang bersifat tradisional yang diharapkan mampu menjadi penghubung pulau-pulau kecil di Indonesia dalam mengirimkan komoditi yang terjaga kualitas barang bawaannya. Kapal pelayaran rakyat diharapkan bisa mempertahankan barang bawaan yang disimpan dalam palka khususnya tekstur, rasa, dan bau. Tugas akhir ini dilakukan untuk mendesain suatu sistem pengondisian udara yang dapat menjaga kelembaban udara dan temperatur udara. Udara dari luar masuk ke dalam palka kapal melalui ventilasi dengan rotor desikan, lalu akan dilakukan percobaan yang menggunakan sistem Counter flow dan Cooling section serta mencoba beberapa variasi dari model dan putaran rotor desikan. Penelitian ini menggunakan desikan berbahan gabungan antara silica gel dan molecular sieve. Dari hasil penelitian percobaan didapat bahwa rotor model 2 variasi 1 yakni dengan menggunakan sistem Cooling section memiliki performa penyerapan baik dan menurunkan relative humidity sebesar 31% setelah 60 menit. Nilai performa rotor desikan yang menggunakan model 2 variasi 1 pada penelitian ini dengan parameter perhitungan Dehumidification effectiveness sebesar 40,26%. Nilai perhitungan MRC (The Moisture Removal Capacity) dengan densitas udara 1,2 kg/m3, kapasitas udara supply 0,0783 m3 dan ∆RH 31% yakni menghasilkan sebesar 2,91 kg/h.

The Pelra ship are ships that are useful for traditional people's businesses which are expected to be able to connect small islands in Indonesia in sending commodities whose quality of commodities is maintained. Pelra ship are expected to be able to maintain the goods carried in the hold, especially the texture, taste, and smell. This final project is done to design an air conditioning system that keeps air humidity and air temperature. Air from outside enters the ship's hold through a vent with a desiccant rotor, then experiments will be carried out using the Counter flow system and Cooling section system as well as trying several variations of the desiccant rotor model and rotation. This study uses a desiccant made from a combination of silica gel and molecular sieve. From the experimental research, it was found that the rotor model 2 variation 1, using the Cooling section system, had good absorption performance and reduced relative humidity by 31% after 60 minutes. The value of the desiccant rotor performance using model 2 variation 1 in this study with the parameter of dehumidification effectiveness calculation of 40,26%. The calculated value of MRC (The Moisture Removal Capacity) with an air density of 1.2 kg / m3, air supply capacity of 0.0783 m3 and ∆RH of 31%, which results in 2.91 kg / h.
