Abstract

Closed cooling water system merupakan salah satu sistem yang ada pada gas turbine. Fungsi utama system tersebut adalah mendinginkan lube oil dan winding generator. Penurunan kinerja dari closed cooling water system dapat mengakibatkan system proteksi dari gas turbine akan aktif dan menyebabkan gas turbine trip. Dengan maksud menambah kehandalan system pendingin dan sebagai back up ketika ada peralatan cooler fan yang membutukan perawatan serta perbaikan, maka ada penambahan grup induced draft cooler fan, dari yang sebelumnya 2 grup maka ditambahkan 1 grup lagi sehingga total menjadi 3 grup. Dengan penambahan tersebut diharapkan pola operasi menjadi 2 grup cooler fan beroperasi dan 1 grup standby.
Kondisi saat ini ketika pagi sampai malam hari, 3 grup cooler fan beroperasi untuk mendinginkan closed cooling water, kondisi saat ini berbeda dari tujuan awal penambahan grup cooler fan, dimana untuk tujuan kehandalan maka 1 grup cooler fan akan dalam posisi tidak beroperasi (standby), hal ini mengindikasikan terjadinya penurunan kinerja cooler fan. Penelitian diawali dengan pengumpulan data, baik data desain cooler fan maupun data operasi dari closed cooling water Gas turbine blok 5. Eksperimen dengan memvariasikan blade pitch angle cooler fan yang akan diukur parameter kerja di lapangan dan dianalisa hasil dari pengukuran tersebut terhadap kinerja heat exchanger cooler fan. Variasi blade pitch angle cooler fan yang dilakukan dengan dibatasi oleh parameter kerja motor cooler fan.
Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah kenaikan dari blade pitch angle cooler fan mengakibatkan kenaikan flowrate dari cooler fan, hal ini juga mempengaruhi heat tranfer rate dari heat exchanger cooler fan yang semakin meningkat ketika blade pitch angle cooler fan dinaikkan. Kenaikan dari blade pitch angle cooler fan juga mengakibatkan penurunan temperature closed cooling water pada outlet heat exchanger cooler fan. Arus motor cooler fan juga semakin meningkat ketika blade pitch angle dinaikan, hal ini mempengaruhi pemakaian daya motor cooler fan yang meningkat ketika blade pitch angle dinaikkan.

Closed cooling water system is one of the existing systems in gas turbine. The main function of the system is to cooling lube oil and winding generators. Decreased performance of closed cooling water system can result in gas turbine protection system will be active and cause gas turbine trip. With the intention of adding the reliability of the cooling system, and as a backup when there is cooler fan equipment that fixes maintenance and repair, then there is the addition of induced draft cooler fan group, from the previous two groups then added one more group so that the total becomes three groups. With the addition, it is expected that the operating pattern will be two cooler fan groups operating and one standby group.
The current condition when morning until night, three cooler fan groups operate to cooling down cooling water, the current condition is different from the initial goal of adding cooler fan group, were for the purpose of reliability then one group cooler fan will be in a standby position, this indicates a decrease in cooler fan performance. The research began with data collection, both cooler fan design data and operating data from closed cooling water Gas turbine block 5. Experiments by varying the blade pitch angle cooler fan to be measured parameters of work in the field and analyzed the results of these measurements against the performance of the heat exchanger cooler fan. Variations of blade pitch angle cooler fan performed by limiting the working parameters of the motor cooler fan.
The result of this study is that the increase of blade pitch angle cooler fan results in an increase in flowrate from the cooler fan, it also affects the heat transfer rate of the heat exchanger cooler fan which increases when the blade pitch angle cooler fan is raised. The increase of blade pitch angle cooler fan also resulted in a decrease in the temperature of closed cooling water at the outlet heat exchanger cooler fan. The motor current of cooler fan also increases when the blade pitch angle is raised, this affects the power usage of the motor cooler fan which increases when the blade pitch angle is raised.
