Abstract

Perkembangan kereta api di Indonesia berkembang semakin cepat. Pembangunan kereta cepat Jakarta-Bandung dan rencana pembangungan kereta semi-cepat Jakarta-Surabaya merupakan salah satu contoh berkembangnya sistem kereta api di Indonesia. PT Kereta Api Indonesia (PT KAI) akan membangun layanan kereta semi-cepat yang mulai dibangun tahun 2022 dan direncanakan selesai di tahun 2026. Aspek yang dipertimbangkan dalam pembangunan ini salah satunya adalah keamanan. Coupler kereta api merupakan penghubung antar rangkaian kereta. Untuk meneliti dari sisi keamanan dan kenyamanan coupler maka diperlukan studi simulasi untuk mengetahui spesifikasi coupler yang baik untuk menahan beban ketika kereta melakukan pengereman mendadak.
Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui gaya yang diterima coupler rangkaian kereta dengan lokomotif dan 2 gerbong ketika dilakukan pengereman. Tahapan penelitian ini diawali dengan

melakukan identifikasi masalah dan dilanjutkan dengan studi literatur. Analisa dan perhitungan gaya yang memengaruhi gaya yang diterima coupler dilakukan setelah menentukan data rancangan dan penelitian. Simulasi dilakukan menggunakan perangkat lunak MATLAB-Simulink R2021a.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pengaruh gaya pengereman, kecepatan awal, dan berat rangkaian terhadap gaya yang diterima coupler ketika dilakukan pengereman mendadak. Gaya yang diterima coupler akan semakin besar dengan gaya pengereman yang lebih besar. Gaya yang diterima coupler akan sama dengan kecepatan awal yang berbeda. Gaya tarik yang diterima coupler akan semakin besar jika berat gerbong dibelakangnya semakin ringan.

The development of railways in Indonesia is growing faster. The construction of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train and the planned construction of the Jakarta-Surabaya medium speed train are examples of the development of the rail system in Indonesia. PT Kereta Api Indonesia (PT KAI) will build a medium speed train service which will begin construction in 2022 and is planned to be completed in 2026. One of the aspects considered in this development is safety. The train coupler is the link between the train cars. To examine the safety and comfort of the coupler, a simulation study is needed to determine the specifications of a good coupler to withstand the load when the train makes hard braking.
This study was conducted to determine the force received by the train couplers with a locomotive and 2 passenger cars when braking. This research stage begins with identifying the problem and continues with a literature study. Analysis and calculation of the force that affects the force received by the coupler is carried

out after determining the design and research data. Simulations were carried out using the MATLAB-Simulink R2021a software.
The results showed the effect of braking force, initial speed, and passenger car weight on the force received by the coupler when hard braking applied. The force received by the coupler will be greater with greater braking force. The force received by the coupler will be the same with different initial velocities. The tensile force received by the coupler will be greater if the weight of the car behind it is getting lighter.
