Abstract

East Java is a province with the second-highest COVID-19 confirmed case in Indonesia as of December 1, 2020. As an effort to break the chain of COVID-19 spread in East Java, a classification of the community compliance level in implementing health protocols was carried out. The data used is secondary data obtained from Pusat Kajian SDG’s ITS. Data was carried out through an online survey from October 8, 2020, to December 6, 2020, with a total of 579 respondents. The classification method used is Classification and Regression Tree (CART) in stages because there is a relationship that affects compliance gradually. The variables used are compliance, effectivity confidence, and willingness to apply the 3M health protocols. Respondents are dominated by women, aged 17 to 25, college graduates, and students. Most of the respondents stated that they always obeyed, believed in the effectiveness of implementing the 3M health protocol, and declared that they are very willing to implement the 3M health protocol. Based on the analysis result, the belief in effectiveness has the highest contribution in determining respondent compliance level. Based on the confidence level of the 3M health protocol effectiveness classification, occupation has the highest contribution. Therefore occupation will also determine respondent compliance level.
