Abstract

The Student-Life Stress Inventory (SLSI).

The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic conditions forced the lecture process of the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology Student which was previously offline to be online. However, after undergoing online lectures for one year, based on an initial survey conducted on 139 respondents, 54% of ITS students felt that online lectures were not running effectively. In addition, 60% of students felt that studying online was also heavy, and 66% of students felt that studying online was stressful because of the high study load. Therefore, ITS student workload and stress levels need some attention. This research aimed to related information regarding the existing condition of mental workload and stress levels of ITS students during online lectures. So that an analysis can be carried out on the student’s mental workloads of and the stress levels to be able to make necessary improvement. The mental workload of the students will be measured by using the Defense Research Agency Workload Scale (DRAWS) questionnaire, and the level of academic stress will be measured using The Student-Life Stress Inventory (SLSI). Based on the result of the research, it is found that 76% of respondents are experiencing overload mental workloads, and 70% are experiencing moderate stress. In addition, with and average respondent’s score of 3,49, it is concluded that mental workload significantly influence learning achievement with academic stress as an interverning variables.
