Abstract

==================================================================================================
Sandwich as an advanced material increases innovation in the field of ship construction. One of the applications was on the ramp door structure. The characteristics of sandwich material which were light and strong were the main reasons for the application of this material. However, sandwich material also has drawbacks, one of which was debonding damage where the bond between the face and core was separated. This damage can affect the stiffness of the structure which has an impact on reducing the strength of the structure on the ramp door. The effect of debonding was identified by performing numerical tests using finite element software. This test aimed to identify the dynamic response that occurs in the ramp door due to the influence of the debonding damage that occurs. This study used finite element software with 2 methods, namely modal analysis to determine the natural frequency and explicit dynamics to determine the dynamic response of stress and displacement due to loading on the ramp door. Based on the test results with finite element software, it showed that debonding damage reduced the natural frequency of the structure which indicated reduced structural stiffness. The greater the debonding ratio in a structure, the lower the natural frequency would be. The most sensitive form of debonding damage was the square form of damage. The most sensitive fault location were on the right and left of the model. From the research results, it was known that the ratio of debonding damage caused the amplitude of the dynamic response to increase when subjected to periodic or transient loading.
