Abstract

A=2,461x10^(-4) x M^11.23
=======================================================================================================
Indonesia is located on 3 earth plates which have big risk of earthquakes. Earthquakes occur because of the release of energy from within the earth causes severe vibrations on the ground surface and destroy existing buildings and the loss of many lives. Most of the victims were caused by the inability of building to reduce the impact of the earthquake. Related to this, it needs for research on the development of existing building structures in Indonesia.
The method which can be developed in this effort is to study how the earthquake occurs by collecting raw data for recording earthquake waves. The data will be converted and processed to produce an equation and scaling reference. The equation and scaling will be used to simulate and study the characteristic of the result.
The results of this study are in the form equation and scaling, conversion of magnitude and frequency representing earthquake, as well as the characteristic of the initial simulation of the data that has been obtained. The equation of the relationship between Magnitude and Amplitude will be the reference algorithM used to simulate earthquakes on the prototype with a scaled size tool. M for expected richter scale magnitude and A for actual amplitude in micrometer which later on will be scaled down according to the simulation with equation noted as:
A=2,461x10^(-4) x M^11.23
