Abstract

Internet Of Things (IOT) refers to the use of multiple connected devices and systems to use data obtained from sensors and actuators and other physical objects. Wireless Sensor Network is one of the important aspects in IoT. In this process, storage capacity and networks are required. to support smooth communication between the user and the device itself. WSN itself is more vulnerable to attacks than other networks.
In this research, it has been simulated a network with a VM (Virtual Machine) as an IoT devices connected through a router gatway to the internet and then other client. NAT (Network Address Translation) has also been configured so that the simulation can be similar to the real case. Then configured PPTP and L2TP VPN with and without IPSec on a router.
In the experiment using PPTP with a VPN server connected directly to the Gateway router, it was found that the encrypted data and IP had been hidden on the internal network but the IP would still change when it went to the Internet. In the L2TP experiment, IP has been successfully cloaked from the intranet and when it goes to the internet it has also been shrouded but not encrypted. In the IPSec experiment the data has been successfully encrypted and the IP address has not changed. In the L2TP IPsec experiment the data has been successfully encrypted and the IP address changes when going to the internet
