Abstract
Kesadaran tentang keselamatan berkendara dirasa masih sangat kurang pada masyarakat khususnya pengguna sepeda motor. Kota Kupang sebagai ibukota provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT) menyumbang angka kecelakaan terbesar di NTT dengan 70% jumlah kecelakaan yang terjadi melibatkan sepeda motor. Angka ini diperparah dengan jumlah kendaraan bermotor yang bertambah setiap tahun, dengan jumlah 197.211 unit hingga 2019. Manusia sebagai faktor utama terjadinya kecelakaan lalu lintas, maka penting untuk mengukur sejauh mana perilaku berkendara memengaruhi dan menyebabkan kejadian kecelakaan di jalan.
Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah Motorcycle Rider Behaviour Questionnaire (MRBQ) yang disesuaikan dengan pengendara di kota Kupang. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan simple random sampling dengan metode yang digunakan yaitu metode regresi logistik untuk memperoleh indikator dan parameter yang bisa diandalkan dari kuesioner MRBQ. Data-data yang sudah terkumpul dianalisis menggunakan bantuan program SPSS dengan regresi logistik sebagai output untuk dapat diiinterpretasi. Akhirnya diperoleh struktur persamaan yang dijadikan sebagai model prediksi terjadinya kecelakaan sepeda motor berdasarkan perilaku berkendara masyarakat.
Dari 6 variabel pada MRBQ penelitian ini, variabel safety violations paling mendominasi terjadinya kecelakaan sepeda motor yang terjadi di antara pengendara sepeda motor di kota Kupang, begitu pula variabel traffic violations. Karakteristik berupa kepemilikan sepeda motor dan jauhnya jarak yang ditempuh pengendara merupakan variabel yang paling berpengaruh terhadap kejadian kecelakaan sepeda motor di kota Kupang, di mana semakin jauh jarak tempuh dan semakin sedikit jumlah kepemilikan sepeda motor, maka semakin besar probabilitas kecelakaan jalan raya untuk pengendara sepeda motor.

The public, especially motorbike users, is still lacking awareness about driving safety. Kupang city as the provincial capital of East Nusa Teanggara or Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT), accounts for the largest number of accidents in NTT with 70% of the total accidents involving motorcycles. This figure is exacerbated by the number of motorcycles increasing every year, with a total of 197,211 units until 2019. Since humans are posing as the main factor in traffic accidents, it is crucial to measure the extent to which driving behavior affects and causes road accidents.
The measuring instrument used is the Motorcycle Rider Behavior Questionnaire (MRBQ) which is adjusted for riders in Kupang city. Sample collection is done by using simple random sampling method, while the research is performed with the logistic regression analysis method to obtain reliable indicators and parameters from the MRBQ questionnaire. The data collected are then analyzed using the supporting program, SPSS, with logistic regression as output to be interpreted. Finally, the structure of the equation is obtained which will act as a predictive model for motorcycle accidents based on people's riding behavior.
Out of 6 variables of the MRBQ questionnaire, Safety Violations is the most dominating in an occurrence of a motorcycle accident in Kupang city, as well as the Traffic Violations one. The characteristics namely motorcycle ownership and motorcycle mileage are the most influential variable on the incidence of motorcycle accidents in Kupang city where the farther the riders travel and the fewer motorcycles they have, the higher the probability for the riders of being involved in a road accident.
