Abstract

Siswa sekolah pada masa pademi dihimbau untuk mengikuti proses pembelajaran secara daring. Dalam mata pelajaran tertentu seperti biologi, di mana memerlukan praktikum yang menjadi terhenti selama pembelajaran daring. Video eksplanasi berbasis animasi 3D dipilih karena dapat menampilkan objek dengan pengalaman menarik dan lebih detail. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat membantu siswa dalam mempermudah proses belajar dengan media keluaran berupa animasi. Proses riset yang dilaksanakan berturut-turut adalah studi eksperimental, wawancara mendalam, prototyping, dan user test. Studi eksperimental bertujuan untuk menghasilkan naskah. Wawancara mendalam bersama beberapa ahli animasi bertujuan untuk mendiskusikan serta mendapatkan kritik dan saran atas materi yang telah dirangkum dan animasi yang akan digunakan. Prototyping dimulai dari proses pembuatan karakter, environment, storyboard, dan animasi. User test menggunakan kuisioner mengenai prototype yang bertujuan untuk mendapatkan respon dan penilaian mengenai aspek dalam video animasi dari target audiens, siswa SMP kelas 8 di Surabaya. Hasil dari perancangan ini adalah video eksplanasi praktikum biologi menggunakan animasi 3D untuk siswa SMP kelas 8 dengan durasi ± 5 menit. Penggunaan teknik storytelling dan bahasa yang sederhana dimaksudkan agar target audiens lebih mudah memahami informasi. Diharapkan dengan perancangan animasi ini dapat menjadi salah satu alternatif media pembelajaran yang menarik. ================================================================================================ School students during this pandemic are encouraged to take part in the online learning process. In certain subjects such as biology, students in grade 8 go through material compaction and require a practicum learning process which stops during this online learning. The explanation video based on 3D animation was chosen because it can display objects with better quality and more detail. This research is expected to help students in facilitating the learning process with the output media in the form of animation. The research process carried out successively was experimental studies, in-deep interviews, and user test. The experimental study aims to produce a manuscript. Prototyping starts from the process of creating characters, environments, storyboards, and animations. In-deep interviews with several animation experts aim to discuss and get criticism and suggestions on the material that has been summarized and the animation that will be used. The user test uses a questionnaire about the prototype which aims to get responses and assessments about aspects of the animated video from the target audience, 8th grade junior high school students in Surabaya. The result of this design is a biology practicum explanation video using 3D animation for 8th grade junior high school students with a duration of ± 5 minutes. The use of storytelling techniques and simple language is intended to make it easier for the target audience to understand the information. It is hoped that the design of this animation can be one of the interesting alternative learning media.
