Abstract

The economic downturn due to the COVID-19 pandemic has spread to various business fields. The fashion business is no exception, from big brand classes to MSMEs. Social restriction regulations imposed in various places have limited fashion retail, even though retail is the main source of sales of a fashion brand. In fact, throughout the pandemic crisis, retail closures are common all over the world. Even in the new normal, solutions for fashion retail are needed in order to maintain their existence. Especially in the process of fitting clothes, an important process in fashion shopping activities. In the new normal conditions, it is necessary to maintain health protocols, especially to limit the use of products in general, interchangeably. Therefore, Augmented Reality (AR) technology can help provide solutions in the fitting process to be safer and more efficient, with a virtual fitting experience. This solution can also improve branding which is also needed to strengthen the image of a brand in an effort to maintain existence. This project creates a 'Virtual Fitting' experience that is accessed using a display device equipped with AR technology. With this device, shoppers can try on clothes virtually in a fashion retail, then virtual clothes will be added to the shopper's on-screen display. With this 'Virtual Fitting' simulation, it is hoped that it can handle the challenges of fashion brands in the new normal period to maintain their existence and support the health protocol maintenance program.
