Abstract

Pada era modern ini penggunaan material non-ferous mulai banyak digunakan di berbagai bidang industri untuk menggantikan material ferrous. Salah satu material non ferrous yang paling banyak digunakan adalah aluminium 6061.Industri kesehatan juga memanfaatkan aluminium pada alat kesehatannya seperti pylon prostesis kaki palsu. Kekurangan jika menggunakan aluminium 6061 murni adalah kekuatan yang dibutuhkan tidak cukup untuk menopang beban berat badan manusia sehingga diperlukannya perlakuan panas untuk meningkatkan kekuatan aluminium 6061. Pada penelitian pengaruh aging terhadap sifat mekanik aluminium 6061 ini akan dilakukan perlakuan panas T6, dimana material akan dilakukan solid solution treatment untuk membentuk fasa tunggal yang stabil pada paduan aluminium dan dilanjutkan artificial aging. Temperatur solid solution treatment yang digunakan sebesar 500oC selama 1 jam dengan pendinginan water quenching dilanjutkan artificial aging pada temperatur 180oC dengan 4 variasi waktu aging selama 3, 4, 5 dan 6 jam. Heat treatment dilakukan pada 2 macam jenis furnace, burner dan tungku elektrik. Setelah dilakukan heat treatment, dilakukan pengujian kekuatan tarik, kekerasan dan metalografi. Penelitian ini difokuskan pada peningkatan kekuatan dari aluminium 6061 yang akan digunakan sebagai material pada pylon kaki palsu melalui proses heat treatment. Pada pylon kaki palsu dapat dikatakan aman jika tidak melebihi 75% yield strength aluminium 6061-T6. Setelah dilakukan penelitian, didapatkan bahwa nilai kekuatan cenderung meningkat seiring bertambahnya waktu aging. Hal ini divalidisi dengan meningkatnya nilai kekerasan. Karena dari penelitian ini belum mencapai 75% yield strength tujuan, maka diperlukan heat treatment kembali dengan temperatur dan waktu aging yang berbeda. ===============================================================================================
In this modern era the use of non-ferous materials began to be widely used in various industrial fields to replace ferrous materials. One of the most widely used non ferrous materials is aluminum 6061.The health industry also utilizes aluminum in its medical devices such as prosthetic limb pylon prosthesis. The drawback of using pure aluminum 6061 is that the strength required is not enough to support the weight load of humans so heat treatment is needed to increase the strength of aluminum 6061. In research the effect of aging on the mechanical properties of aluminum 6061 will be carried out heat treatment T6, where the material will be done solid solution treatment to form a single phase that is stable in aluminum alloys and continued artificial aging. Solid solution treatment temperature used at 500oC for 1 hour with water quenching cooling continued artificial aging at 180oC with 4 variations in aging time for 3, 4, 5 and 6 hours. Heat treatment is carried out in 2 types of furnaces, burners and electric furnaces. After heat treatment, testing of tensile strength, hardness and metallographic. The study focused on increasing the strength of aluminum 6061 which will be used as a material in prosthetic leg pylons through heat treatment. In prosthetic leg pylons can be said to be safe if it does not exceed 75% aluminum strength yield 6061-T6. After research, it was found that the value of strength tends to increase with aging time. This is validated by the increasing value of violence. Because from this study has not reached the 75% yield strength goal, heat treatment is needed again with different temperatures and aging times.
