Abstract

Indonesia dilaporkan mengalami kenaikan jumlah
kecelakaan lalu lintas hingga lebih dari 80 persen. Mobil
beberapa variasi frekuensi. Pada sistem seperempat kendaraan
mobil dengan penggunaan sistem suspensi hidrolik, karakteristik
respon kendaraan dan penumpang mencapai kondisi steady state
kurang dari 3 detik dan 4 detik. Sedangkan pada sistem suspensi
modifikasi penambahan single flywheel, respon kendaraan dan
penumpang mencapai kondisi steady state kurang dari 2 detik.
Pada kedua sistem suspensi tersebut menunjukkan peningkatan
nilai perpindahan RMS mulai kecepatan 20 km/jam hingga 40
km/jam, kemudian mengalami penurunan hingga kecepatan 80
km/jam. Apabila dibandingkan dengan standar ISO 2631, pada
penggunaan sistem suspensi hidrolik dan sistem suspensi
modifikasi penambahan single flywheel, mulai kecepatan 60

=================================================================

Indonesia reported an increase in the number of traffic
accidents by more than 80 percent. Passenger car, that include to
the Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) got the second place in the
vehicle involved in the accidents. One of the causes of accidents
that nearly often happens is the condition of the road surfaces is
uneven, so that when the car speed past the bumpy road will drift.
This can result in damage to the vehicle suspension system which
led to a reduction MPV levels of comfort and safety of drivers and
passengers of vehicles when receiving excessive vibration. One
way to improve the performance of the suspension system of MPV
that modify the hydraulic suspension system with mechanical
suspension system through the utilization of the flywheel concept.
The flywheel is used to store rotational energy that can be
harnessed as an energy damping.
In this thesis, the modeling and simulation of changes in
the parameters that exist in the hydraulic suspension system and
modification suspension system by single flywheel to the damping
force, and dynamic response of the vehicle and passengers. The
density of the material varied flywheel is cast iron (6800 kg/m3),
stainless steel (7480 kg/m3), and brass casting (8400 kg/m3). As for
the input frequency suspension system varied from 0.5 Hz to 2 Hziv
with a rise of 0.5 Hz eaches. Inputs used in this simulation are a
sinusoidal input and bump modified.
From this research, showed that the damping force
generated in the single flywheel suspension system is higher than
the hydraulic suspension system at some variation of frequency. On
the quarter car vehicle system with the use of hydraulic suspension
system, the response characteristics of vehicles and passengers
reach steady state conditions in less than 3 seconds and 4 seconds.
While the modification suspension system by single flywheel,
response vehicles and passengers reach steady state conditions in
less than 2 seconds. In both suspension system shows the increase
in the value of RMS displacement starts speed of 20 km/hr to 40
km/hr, and then decreased to a speed of 80 km/hr. When compared
to the standard ISO 2631, the use of hydraulic suspension system
and modification suspension system by single flywheel from a
speed 60 km/hr can be said to be uncomfortable, so that the
suspension system is less suitable for use in high speed.
