Abstract

Senyawa kompleks Co(II) dengan ligan 2(4-klorofenil)-4,5-difenil-1H-imidazol telah berhasil disintesis menggunakan metode refluks. Rendemen senyawa kompleks yang dihasilkan sebesar 65,29%. Kristal senyawa kompleks yang dihasilkan berwarna ungu dan mempunyai panjang gelombang 445 nm. Berdasarkan analisa unsur CHN diperoleh hasil C=61,038%, H=5,174% dan N=6,779%. Hasil karakterisasi AAS diperoleh kadar ion logam Co(II)=7,146%. Berdasarkan nilai tersebut maka usulan struktur senyawa kompleks tersebut mempunyai geometri oktahedral dengan usulan rumus molekul Co(II)[2(4-klorofenil)-4,5-difenil-1H-Imidazol]2(H2O)4∙2H2O. Formula struktur tersebut didukung dengan hasil analisa TGA yang menunjukkan dekomposisi air kristal pada suhu 160,75-180,71 C dan dekomposisi air ligan pada suhu 216,15-263,18 C. Spektrofotometer FTIR menunjukkan adanya ikatan v(Co-N) dan v(Co-OH2) pada bilangan gelombang 503,44 cm-1 dan 419,57 cm-1. Uji toksisitas senyawa ini dilakukan dengan metode Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) dan dihasilkan nilai toksisitas LC50 ligan 2(4-klorofenil)-4,5-difenil-1H-imidazol dan kompleks Co(II) sebesar 23,71 ppm dan 59,70 ppm.

Cobalt(II) complex compound with 2(4-chlorophenyl)-4,5-diphenyl-1H-imidazole ligand has been synthesized using reflux method. The yield of the complex is 65.29%. The violet crystal was absorbed at 445 nm. The complex was characterized by CHN elemental analyzer with the results C=61.038%, H=5.174% and N=6.779%. Characterization of metal ion by AAS obtained Co(II)=7.146%. Based on these values, the proposed structure of the complex compound is octahedral and the proposed molecular is Co(II)[2(4-chlorphenyl)-4,5-diphenyl-1H-Imidazoel]2(H2O)4∙2H2O. The structural formula is supported by the analysis of TGA that showed crystal water decomposition at 160.5-180.71 °C and ligand water decomposition at 216.15-263.18 °C. The IR spectrum showed the characteristic of v(Co-N) and v(Co-OH2) at 503.44cm-1 and 419.57 cm-1. Toxicity test was observed by Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) method revealed the LC50 of the ligand and the complex are 23.71 ppm and 59.70 ppm.
