Abstract

Pada umumnya, kapal perikanan 100 GT menggunakan motor diesel berdaya 300 HP sebagai penggerak utama (main engine) yang bekerja selama operasi panangkapan ikan (kira-kira 9 jam kerja). Efisiensi termal motor diesel sekitar 48%-51%. Sedangkan sebagian besar energi yang terbuang berupa energi panas (kira-kira 25,5%). Pemanfaatan energi panas gas buang motor diesel dapat dimanfaatkan untuk memanaskan udara pengering pada sistem spray dryer. Spray dryer pada sistem destilasi air laut bekerja dengan memaksimalkan luas permukaan sentuh antara udara pengering (130OC) dan air laut yang dikabutkan.
Untuk dapat menghasilkan temperatur udara pengering sebesar 130OC dibutuhkan alat penukar kalor (heat exchanger) yang berjenis plat fin dengan luas area 7,7 m2. Perencanaan desain mampu menghasilkan massa uap air sebesar 0,285 kg H2O/kg udara pada tiap 0,89 m3/s volume udara pengering. Sehingga untuk menguapkan air laut sebanyak 8,51 kg/jam, serta dapat menghasilkan air tawar sebesar 8,16 kg/jam dibutuhkan tabung spray dryer dengan tinggi silinder (H_s) sebesar 1,3 m ; tinggi konis (H_k) sebesar 0,2 m; dan diameter tabung spary dryer (∅) sebesar 1,1 m dengan kebutuhan massa aliran udara sebesar 28,8 kg udara/s.

Generally, Fishing Vessel 100 GT use diesel engine with power 300 HP as a main propulsor (main engine) that works for the fishing operation (about 9 work time) Thermal efficiency of motor diesel about 48%-51%. Meanwhile, tho most of part of waste energy is thermal energy (*about 25.5%). The exhaust gas thermal energy of motor diesel can be used for dryer air heating in spray dryer system. Spray dryer as a one of drying methode which could separate the mixture based on the deference of votality rate (distillation). Spray Dryer in the distillation system of sea water workks by maximizing surface area between dryer air (130°C) and spryed sea water.
For being able to get result of temperature of dryer air 130°C amount needed plate fin heat exchanger with amount of the surface area 7,7 m². Design planning is able to afford water vapor mass with number of 0.285 kg H2O, air in every 0.89 m3/s volume of dryer air. So, for steaming sea water with a number of 8.51 kg/hour, as well as can afford fresh water with a umber of 8.16 kg/hour that needed spray dryer vessel with the heigh of cylinder (Hs) is 1.3 m ; height of conis (Hk) is 0.2 m; and the diameter of spray dyer vessel is 1.1 m with the needs of mass of air flow 28.8 kg/s
