Abstract

Gangguan hubung singkat menyebabkan arus yang sangat besar yang dapat melampaui kemampuan peralatan sehingga dapat merusak peralatan listrik yang berada di dekat titik gangguan tersebut. serta merusak sistem kelistrikan yang mengakibatkan terganggunya kontinuitas pelayanan daya listrik . Jika kontinuitas penyaluran terganggu maka proses yang harus dijalankan di dalam dunia industri menjadi tersendat dan mengakibatkan kerugian yang tidak sedikit.
Pada Tugas Akhir ini akan membahas tentang koordinasi proteksi pada PT Smelting di Gresik. PT. Smelting merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang industri pemurnian dan peleburan tembaga (Cu) karena pernah mengalami padamnya smelter substation1 dan proses industri tersendat akibat gangguan hubung singkat, menimbulkan kerugian yang tidak sedikit. Setelah dilakukan analisa terhadap sistem koordinasi proteksi, terdapat beberapa kesalahan koordinasi seperti grading time antar rele arus lebih (50,51) belum memenuhi standar IEEE 242 yaitu 0,2s-0,3s. Oleh karena itu dilakukan resetting pada sistem koordinasi proteksi agar tidak terjadinya trip secara bersamaan antar cb yang mengakibatkan gagalnya sistem proteksi arus lebih melokalisir gangguan.

Short circuit fault in power system causes the massive value of electricity current that can damage the equipment of power system, the equipment can be damaged because the capacity can’t resist the high ampere of current which passed trhough it, the indirect impact of this phenomenon is the distrupt the distribution’s system that can causes huge economical loss in industrial world.
In this final project will be discussed about the overcurrent protection’s coordination on PT Smleting Gresik . PT Smelting Gresik is the company that performing the copper (Cu) refinement and smelt. It the Industrial processes is interrupted by short circuit fault, can causes huge financial losses. After the analysis the electrical system in the company, it found mistakes in settings of grading time between the overcurrent relays (50,51). The mistake is the grading time betweeen relays is not fulfilled the IEEE 242 Standrads of grading time (0,2-0,3s). Because of that case, the setting of overcurent protection coordination has to be reset based on the IEEE 242 Standars
