Abstract

Nelayan merupakan profesi yang sangat familiar di sebagian besar masyarakat Indonesia. Itu sebanding dengan potensi laut Indonesia yang sangat melimpah. Tetapi dibalik itu masih banyak permasalahan-permasalahan yang terkait dengan kesejahteraan. Salah satunya adalah permasalahan masih mahalnya harga bbm bersubsidi dan borosnya pemakaian solar terhadap engine kapal yang akibatnya pengeluaran untuk bahan bakar akan semakin besar pula. Borosnya pemakaian solar diakibatkan karena performa engine tidak maksimal. salah satunya adalah kondisi udara yang masuk ke ruang bakar. Pada penelitian ini, dirancang alat pendingin udara berbasis termoelektrik dengan tujuan agar udara yang masuk ke ruang bakar mengalami penurunan temperatur. Dengan demikian maka kerapatan partikel udara akan semakin meningkat Melalui penelitian ini juga diharapkan bahwa campuran udara dan bahan bakar semakin baik sehingga akan terjadi peningkatan performa engine. Beberapa parameter pengujian yang diukur diantaranya daya motor, torsi motor, konsumsi bahan bakar, efisiensi thermal dan BMEP. Dari hasil penelitian ini di variasikan dalam 4 kondisi suhu, yaitu 24°,20°,16°. Maka dihasilkan konsumsi bahan bakar dari suhu normal SFOC mengalami penurunan terbesar 8% pada temperatur 24°, penurunan 15% pada temperature 20°, penurunan 22% pada temperatur 16°. Sehingga nelayan dapat melakukan penghematan biaya sebesar Rp 6.712.814,00 pada tahun ke 2.

Fishermen are professions that we are familiar in Indonesian. It is proportional to Indonesia's abundant marine potential. But there are many issues related to welfare. One of them is the problem of the high price of subsidized fuel and the wasteful constraints on the use of diesel fuel engine ship which consequently spending on fuel will be even greater. Wasteful diesel usage caused by engine performance is not maximal. One of which is the air condition into the combustion chamber. In this research, a thermoelectric-based air cooler is designed for the purpose of getting air into the combustion chamber to decrease the temperature. Thus, the density of air particles will increase. Therefore density of air particle will be increase, and the mixture of air and fuel the better so that there will be an increase in engine performance. Some test parameters measured include motor power, motor torque, fuel consumption, thermal efficiency and BMEP. The results of this research were varied in 3 temperature conditions, 24 °, 20 °, 16 °. So the resulting fuel consumption from the normal SFOC temperature experienced the largest decrease of 8% at 24 °, 15% at 20 °, 22% at 16 °. So the fisherman can make cost savings Rp 6.712.814,00 in the second year.
