Abstract

=================================================================
Kayangan Api is one of the natural gas seepage phenomena. This seepages are usually occurred inside the fault path. The geophysical method that usually used on fault imaging is VLF-EM method. The measured data of the VLF-EM is usually contaminated with noise. So in this research, Noise Assisted Multivariate Empirical Mode Decomposition (NA-MEMD) has been applied on VLF-EM data (Inphase & quadrature) as a noise filter. After that, the filtered VLF-EM data is used on the interpretation (qualitatively & quantitatively). Based on the result, the fractures that control the gas seepage in the area are well-imaged until 30m depth (due to the limited skin depth effect of the electromagnetics method). The direction of the fracture is from northeast-southwest. The fracture that control the gas seepage is classified as the macro seepage.
