Abstract

Survival analysis is a collection of statistical procedures for data analysis for which the outcome variable of interest is time until an event occurs. The methods used to analyze the relationship between predictor and survival variables include parametric, nonparametric, and semiparametric methods. Whereas, if the survival data to be studied involves many predictor variables, then regression can be used. Regression used to analyze survival data is parametric regression, nonparametric regression, and semiparametric regression. Some nonparametric regression methods are spline, kernel, fourier series, and Multivariate Adaptive Regression Splines (MARS). This research used spline regression model and MARS for survival analysis in cervical cancer patients in RSUD Dr. Soetomo Surabaya. This analysis was conducted to compare cox proportional hazard (PH) model with spline regression and cox PH model with MARS. The best model comparison between cox PH model with spline regression and cox PH model with MARS seen at smallest MSE value that is cox PH model with MARS approach with MSE value of 0,03. Based on cox PH model with MARS approach, it was found that the variables that influence the survival rate of cervical cancer patients in RSUD Dr. Soetomo Surabaya is age (X1), stage (X2), type of PRC transfusion treatment (X4), and comorbidities (X6).
