Abstract

Dalam penggunaan dunia industri, pipa boiler digunakan untuk menyalurkan fluida. Salah satu komponen dalam sistem perpipaan adalah pembengkokan pipa. Akibat pembengkokkan pipa akan merubah nilai kekerasan dari pipa bengkok tersebut. Perubahan nilai kekerasan terjadi karena adanya penarikan dibagian atas pipa dan penekanan dibagian bawah pipa.
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh proses normalizing terhadap kekerasan dan struktur mikro pada pipa SA 179 yang telah mengalami pembengkokan. Dari hasil pengujian kekerasan dapat diketahui perubahan nilai kekerasan pada pipa SA 179 yang telah mengalami pembengkokan setelah di normalizing, dan pada uji Metalografi dapat diketahui perubahan struktur mikro pada pipa bengkok setelah di normalizing.
Dari hasil pembengkokan pipa, didapatkan perubahan pengurangan tebal pada bagian atas pipa dan penambahan tebal pada bagian bawah pipa. Untuk hasil pengujian kekerasan, didapatkan bahwa material pipa bengkok mengalami kenaikan kekerasan daripada pipa lurus, dan pada saat pipa bengkok dilaku panas dengan proses normalizing mengalami penurunan kekerasan daripada pipa bengkok sebelum dilaku panas. Dari hasil pengujian metalografi, terjadi pengecilan batas butir pada pipa bengkok setelah di normalizing.

In industrial use, boiler pipes are used to deliver fluids. One of the components in the piping system is bending pipe. The result of pipe bending will change the hardness value of the bending pipe. Changes in hardness values occur because of the withdrawal at the top of the pipe and the emphasis at the bottom of the pipe.
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of normalizing process on hardness and microstructure on SA 179 pipeline which has been bending. From the results of hardness testing can be seen changes in the hardness of SA 179 pipeline that has been bending after normalizing, and in the test of Metallography can be known changes in microstructure in the bending pipe after the normalizing.
From the pipe bending results, there was a change in thickness at the top of the pipe and the addition of thickness at the bottom of the pipe. For the results of hardness testing, it is found that the material of crooked pipe increased hardness rather than straight pipe, and when the bent pipe was hot by normalizing process it decreased hardness rather than bent pipe before it was hot. From the results of metallographic testing, there is a reduction of grain boundaries in the bending pipe after normalizing.
