Abstract

Hydrogen fuel cells menjadi salah satu sumber energi terbarukan yang sangat ramah lingkungan dikarenakan limbah dari hasil proses berupa H2O atau uap air. Hydrogen fuel cell menggunakan bahan utama yaitu gas hidrogen. Gas hidrogen dapat diproduksi melalui stream reforming, gasifikasi biomasa, gasifikasi batubara dan elektrolisis air.
Pada tugas akhir ini dibuat sebuah alat untuk memproduksi gas hidrogen dengan metode elektrolisis air. Air diuraikan menjadi gas hidrogen dan gas oksigen dengan bantuan arus listrik yang melalui air tersebut. Hasil dari proses pengukuran akan diproses oleh mikrokontroler yang kemudian ditampilkan pada layar LCD. Selain itu keseluruan hasil pengukuran dimonitoring oleh HMI.
Hasil dari pengujian berupa jumlah gas hidrogen (H2) yang dihasilkan.. Pemilihan pengaturan besar arus yang stabil pada kondisi 3A pada buck converter dipilih karena pada pemberian besar arus 3A hasil produksi gas hydrogen (H2) tergolong stabil, namun jika besar nilai arus lebih dari 3A, proses produksi akan menghasilkan uap air.

Hydrogen fuel cells become one of the most environmentally friendly energy sources due to H2O or moisture. Hydrogen fuel cells use the main ingredient of hydrogen gas. Hydrogen gas can be produced through stream reforming, biomass gasification, coal gasification and water electrolysis.
In this final project is made a tool to produce hydrogen gas with water electrolysis method. Water is broken down into hydrogen gas and oxygen gas with the help of an electric current through the water. Large electric current will be controlled by buck converter with the help of microcontroller. The result of the measurement process will be processed by the microcontroller which is then displayed on the LCD screen. In addition, the overall measurement results are monitored by HMI.
The result of the test is the amount of hydrogen gas (H2) generated. The choice of a stable arrangement of a stable current in condition 3A in the buck converter is chosen because in the large current the 3A of hydrogen gas (H2) is considered stable, but if the current value is greater than 3A, the production process will produce moisture.
