Abstract

Usaha Kecil Menengah (UKM) khususnya industri pengolahan buah dan sayur banyak berada di daerah pegunungan. Untuk menjalankan proses produksi, mereka memerlukan energi listrik yang relatif besar. Adanya aliran sungai di area pegunungan yang tiap tahun selalu mengalir dapat dimanfaatkan untuk dikonversi menjadi energi listrik menggunakan Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Mikrohidro (PLTMH), sehingga dapat dimanfaatkan untuk memberikan supply energi listrik ke Usaha Kecil Menengah (UKM). Kestabilan luaran PLTMH dapat diperbaiki dengan sebuah stabilisator berupa sistem dc to dc converter sehingga dapat stabil pada tegangan 12 volt DC.
Pada Tugas Akhir ini dirancang dc to dc converter berupa buck-boost converter yang bersumber dari generator dc magnet permanen pada sistem Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Mikrohidro (PLTMH). Rangkaian buck-boost converter dikendalikan oleh mikrokontroler untuk menghasilkan tegangan output stabil dilevel 12 volt DC. Tegangan output dc yang telah stabil kemudian dialirkan ke inverter untuk dikonversikan menjadi tegangan listrik 220 volt AC dengan frekuensi 50 Hz.
Rangkaian buck-boost converter yang telah dirancang dapat bekerja apabila diberi tegangan input antara 9,6 – 27 volt. Hasil pengujian keseluruhan sistem menghasilkan tegangan output rata-rata 12,04 dan 12,12 volt dengan arus output rata-rata sebesar 0,12 ampere.

Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) especially fruit and vegetable processing industry where most located in mountainous. To operate their production process, they need a relatively large electrical energy. The presence of river flow in mountainous areas that always flow every year can be utilized to be converted into electrical energy using Micro Hydro Power Plant (PLTMH), so it can be used for electricity supply to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). The stability of the Micro Hydro Power Plant (PLTMH) can be regenerated with a stabilizer that is the dc to dc converter system so that it can be stable at 12 volt DC voltage.
In this Final Project designed the dc to dc converter in the form of buck-boost converter that is sourced from permanent magnetic dc generator in Micro Hydro Power Plant system. The buck-boost converter circuit is controlled by microcontroller to produce a stable voltage output at 12 volt DC. And then, the stable dc output voltage will be continued to the inverter to convert into a 220 volt AC with frequency 50 Hz.
The buck-boost converter circuit that has been designed can work when given the input voltage on range 9.6 - 27 volts. The results of overall test from the system produces the average of output voltage is 12.04 and 12.12 volt with the average of output current is 0.12 ampere.
