Abstract

Biologi merupakan salah satu mata pelajaran di Sekolah Menengah Atas yang mempelajari kehidupan makhluk hidup di lingkungannya. Salah satu ranah yang dipelajari adalah kehidupan mikroorganisme yang bersifat patogen. Pembelajaran Biologi di sekolah saat ini hanya berpusat pada buku pelajaran atau textbook. Namun, informasi yang tersedia pada buku mengenai kehidupan mikroorganisme patogen tidaklah lengkap. Di sisi lain, Biologi menjadi salah satu mata pelajaran yang cukup sulit untuk dipelajari dikarenakan beberapa faktor eksternal seperti media pembelajaran yang kurang efektif. Terdapat beberapa media pembelajaran yang dapat menjadi solusi. Salah satunya game. Selain interaktif, game mudah digemari oleh anak usia remaja. Tugas akhir ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan sebuah aplikasi permainan berbasis Android yang bertemakan mikroorganisme patogen. Tugas akhir ini akan berfokus pada siklus hidup mikroba bakteri Salmonella penyebab penyakit demam tifus. Gameplay yang dikemas akan menerangkan secara interaktif bagaimana bakteri masuk ke dalam sistem pencernaan sampai berkembangbiak dan menginfeksi tubuh manusia.

Biology is one of lessons that learned in High School that study the life of living being in the environment. One of the subjects is to learn the life of the microorganism with patogen characteristic. The learning of Biology in school now only based on the textbooks that provided. However, the information which is available on the textbooks about the life of patogen microorganism is not comprehensive. On the other hand, Biology is one of difficult subject to learn because of some external factor such as uneffective learning media. There are several learning medias that can be the solution. Game is one of it. Besides much more interactive, game is popular among the teenager. This final project’s purpose is to develop as Android-based game application with the theme of patogen microorganism. This final project will only focused on the life cycle of the bacteria called Salmonella which is caused the symptoms of typhoid. The gameplay will explain interactively about how the bacteria got into our digestive system until they multiply and infect human body.
