Abstract

Kanker menjadi penyebab utama morbiditas dan mortalitas yang mempengaruhi populasi dunia, karena hingga kini pengobatan kanker masih memiliki kekurangan. Penelitian yang dilakukan bertujuan untuk mendapatkan senyawa-senyawa antikanker berupa dua turunan 5-bromoindol-2,3-dion: 5-bromo-1-(4-bromobenzil)indolin-2,3-dion dan 5-bromo-1-(4-bromobenzil)-3,3-di(indolil)indolin-2-on. Reaksi 5-bromoindol-2,3-dion, natrium hidrida, dan 4-bromobenzil bromida dalam N,N-dimetilformamida (DMF) anhidrat diperoleh senyawa 5-bromo-1-(4-bromobenzil)indolin-2,3-dion dengan rendemen 78%. Reaksi substitusi aromatik elektrofilik indola dengan 5-bromo-1-(4-bromobenzil)indolin-2,3-dion dalam metanol pada kondisi asam diperoleh 5-bromo-1-(4-bromobenzil)-3,3-di(indolil)indolin-2-on dengan rendemen 97%.

Cancer has become the main cause of morbidity and mortality that affects population of the world, because until now there are some weakness for its treatment. This study aimed to obtain anticancer compounds in the form of two 5-bromoindol-2,3-dione derivatives: 5-bromo-1-(4-bromobenzyl)indolin-2,3-dione and 5-bromo-1-(4-bromobenzyl)-3,3-di(indolyl)indolin-2-one. The reaction of 5-bromoindol-2,3-dione, sodium hydride, and 4-bromobenzyl bromide in N,N-dimethylformamide-anhydrous obtained 5-bromo-1-(4-bromobenzyl)indolin-2,3-dione with a yield of 78%. The Electrophilic aromatic substitution reaction of indole with 5-bromo-1-(4-bromobenzyl)indolin-2,3-dione in metanol under acidic condition afforded 5-bromo-1-(4-bromobenzyl)-3,3-di(indolyl)indolin-2-one in 97% of yield.
