Abstract

============== Under normal conditions, a power system will operate in a stable state, by achieving a balance between the mechanical power of the prime mover with electrical power output. Whenever there is a large change in load, the mechanical power must be able to follow this change to restore the system under normal conditions. Load changes here can be caused by several events, including short circuit and generator outage. Which events are included in the phenomenon of transient stability, namely how the system response after a major disruption in a short time (transient). Stability analysis is necessary in analyzing a system. One of them can be used as a consideration in setting the protection of the system. Furthermore this is known as CCT (Critical Clearing Time) which is the maximum time limit allowed for the system to isolate a disturbance. Which when the time is exceeded, then the corresponding generator will occur loss synchron from the other generators. And if thus allowed to happen continuously, it will damage the mechanical turbine from the generator itself. In this final project, we get the CCT on each bus that has been selected and found that there are five locations that require recommendation of protection setting after compare with CCT value obtained.
