Abstract

Mapping the concentration of gas in the exploitation of oil mining is very dangerous to be done by humans. It requires a tool that can do without contamination of gas content and can work more durable one of which is a robot. In this research, a solar powered mobile robot has been developed for mapping gas concentrations that can run automatically with a navigation tracking waypoint system. In this robot equipped with TGS 2600 Sensor Gas, Neo-M8N Ublox GPS Sensor, HMC5883L Compass Sensor, Arduino Mega2560 Microcontroller, Raspberry Pi, MySQL phpMyAdmin database, wireless communication network, web hosting integrated with Google Maps and solar panel module so it can work more durable. The results show Mobile Robot able to map with an average accuracy of 3 meters, gas concentration levels of more than 20 ppm in realtime online and able to display it in the form of web hosting that is integrated with Google Map. The existence of solar panels, the system is able to work more durable 65 minutes compared to batteries without solar panels. From the results of this study can be shown that Mobile Robot able to work more durable in mapping gas concentration at the points that have been determined, and the results of gas concentration mapping can be displayed on websites that can be accessed via the internet..
