Abstract

Machine is one of the source of vibration. The direction of vibration can occur in all directions, but for some machines, the vibrations tend to occur in the translation direction or rotational. If the vibration have equal amount to the natural frequency of the system will reduce the performance of the engine or even damage the components of the machine. One of the method to reduce in a machine is to add Dynamic Vibration Absorber (DVA) with the Cantilever Piezoelectric Vibration Absorber (CPVA) method. Several reseaches have been conducted by Imam Safei[1] and Faiz Imawan Danaputra[2] on the analysis and experiments of Cantilever Piezoelectric Vibration Absorber (CPVA) as vibration dampers and electric power generation. The result show by the studies suggest weakness caused by the framework of the rigid simulator tool. The base of this reseach is to improve vibration simulator frame by the addition of CPVA mechanism which is validated between the simulation result and the experiment using Independent T Test. In this Final Project, simulator frame improvement is done by the addition of CPVA mechanism. The dynamic modelling of framework improvements with the addition of the CPVA mechanism is simulated using the Simulink matlab program with the parameter data taken from Faiz Imawan Danaputra's research[2]. Improved framework with the addition of a CPVA mechanism was further tested with variations of

frequency inputs (5.1, 5.7 and 6.1 Hz), CPVA laying distance from main mass centers (0, 10, 20 cm) and the amount of piezoelectric (8, 10, 12 pieces). The simulation and experimental results will be validated using the Independent T test method. From this research, the result of validation between simulation result and experiment at 5.7 hz frequency without CPVA is 95,6% for translational direction and 95,9% for rotation direction shows valid result when used without CPVA. The best value of vibration reduction result when the placement of CPVA is 10 cm from the main mass center point with the translation acceleration response of 99.47% and 99.79% for the rotation and the result are valid. validation of the largest electrical energy generation is obtained at the placement of CPVA 10 cm from the main mass center point of 99.74%. Validation of acceleration reduction in the main mass system and electrical energy of the rise (volts) by placement of CPVA 10 cm obtained by translation tcount (1.71); tcount rotation (0.347); tcount volt (0.122) <ttable (2,312) which concludes that there are a similarity of data between simulations and experiments on the major system mass acceleration response and yields valid results.
