Abstract

Pringkuku is a karst area with the worst drought crisis in Pacitan. The existence of water sources in the Pacitan karst area there is in the underground river, that formed due to corrosion and erosion of caves for thousands of years. Lithology layers and tectonic structures such as fault, folds and joints are often associated with karst system development. This research is aim to analyze whether a there relationship between faults control that develops with underground rivers in Pringkuku karst area. Geological structural data obtained from geological mapping and then supported by ridge and valley lineament analysis of DEM image. Subsurface data analysis is obtained from VLF and resistivity 2D data processing. The result of fracture system reconstruction and lineament analysis shows there three faults forming the study area, that are Klanden oblique fault, Ngadirejan right slip fault and Barong left slip fault. The results of VLF and resistivity 2D data interpretation show that there are northwest-southeast and northeast-southwest flow pattern in the west of the study area. The results of the geological structure analysis, subsurface interpretation and the presence of vertical cave distribution in the study area indicate that trending faults northwest-southeast and northeast-southwest still control the underground river flow system in the west of the study area.
