Abstract

Material tembaga-benzentrikarboksilat (Cu-BTC) telah berhasil disintesis dengan metode solvotermal pada suhu 100 ºC selama 10 jam dalam campuran pelarut air, etanol dan DMF dengan perbandingan 1:1:1 serta penambahan CTABr, dinotasikan sebagai HKUST-1(S1). Sebagai pembanding, juga disintesis Cu-BTC tanpa penambahan CTABr dan dinotasikan sebagai HKUST-1(S0). Filtrat hasil sintesis digunakan kembali sebagai pelarut pada sintesis berikutnya sampai pengulangan 4 kali hingga diperoleh material yang dinotasikan sebagai HKUST-1(S5). Difraktogram material hasil sintesis menunjukkan puncak karakterisasi pada 2θ sekitar 6,63, 9,4, 11,6 dan 13,4o yang sesuai dengan pola difraktogram HKUST-1 standar. Selain itu, pita serapan dari spektra FTIR material hasil sintesis muncul pada bilangan gelombang yang sama dengan HKUST-1 yang telah dilaporkan. Morfologi permukaan HKUST-1(S1) memiliki bentuk oktahedral yang sesuai dengan HKUST-1 standar, namun terdapat perbedaan morfologi pada HKUST-1(S5) dengan bentuk yang tidak teratur. Hasil analisis dengan TGA menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan stabilitas termal yang signifikan antara HKUST-1(S1) dan HKUST-1(S5) berturut-turut 262 dan 258 °C sedangkan hasil pengukuran isoterm adsorpsi-desorpsi N2 menunjukkan bahwa SBET HKUST-1(S1) dan HKUST-1(S5) berturut-turut 784,1 m2/g dan 500,1 m2/g. Hasil pengukuran kapasitas adsorpsi terhadap kromium dalam air menunjukkan HKUST-1(S5) memiliki kapasitas adsorpsi tertinggi sebesar 100 mg/g serta mengikuti model kinetika adsorpsi orde dua semu dan isotermal adsorpsi Langmuir.

The copper-benzentricarboxylic acid (Cu-BTC) have been synthesized by solvothermal method at 100 °C for 10 hours, using solvent mixture of dimethylformamide (DMF), ethanol and water with volume ratio of 1:1:1 with addition of surfactant CTABr and denoted as HKUST-1(S1). As a comparison was synthesized without the addition of CTABr and denoted as HKUST-1(S0). The synthesized filtrate has been successfully used for subsequent HKUST-1 synthesis up to four replications until obtained materials denoted as HKUST-1(S5). The synthesis diffractogram pattern show the characteristic peak at 2θ of 6,63, 9,4 and 11,6o similar to that of reported HKUST-1. Furthermore, FTIR spectra of all solids showed absorption bands at the same wavenumbers as reported for HKUST-1. Images from Scanning Electrone Microscope (SEM) showed that surface morphology of HKUST-1(S1) by octahedral shape, but difference morphology in HKUST-1 (S5) by irregular shape. The TGA analysis showed HKUST-1(S1) and HKUST-1(S5) were stable at 262 and 258 °C. While the adsorption-desorption N2 isotherm analysis show that SBET from HKUST-1(S1) and HKUST-1(S5) respectively 784,1 m2 / g and 500,1 m2 / g. Capacity measurement for HKUST-1(S5) had highest adsorption capacity 100 mg/g by following the pseudo-second order adsorption kinetics and Langmuir adsorptive isothermal method for the performance as adsorbent for the removal of chromium in water solutions.
