Abstract

Heat exchanger yang umum terdapat pada crude preheat train adalah jenis shell and tube. Performansi dari shell and tube heat exchanger dapat dilihat dari nilai overall heat transfer coefficient yang dihasilkan dari heat exchanger itu sendiri. Untuk meningkatkan nilai overall heat transfer coefficient dilakukan dengan mengubah arah aliran fluida di sisi shell dengan menggunakan baffle. Untuk melihat performansi heat exchanger, dapat diketahui dengan besarnya nilai overall heat transfer coefficient. Salah satu cara adalah dengan menggunakan berbagai tipe tube. Salah satu tipe tube yang digunakan adalah low-finned tube. Low-finned tube merupakan tipe tube dimana terdapat fin yang berfungsi sebagai alat penukar panas yang lebih efektif. Dari hasil optimisasi dengan menggunkan twisted tape yang telah dilakukan didapatkan hasil overall heat transfer coefficient yang lebih optimal.=======================================================================================Heat exchangers are commonly found in the crude preheat train is a type of shell and tube. To increase the value of overall heat transfer coefficient is done by changing the direction of fluid flow on the shell side by using baffle. To see the performance of heat exchanger, can be known by the amount of overall heat transfer coefficient. One way is to use different types of tubes. One type of tube used is a low-finned tube. Low-fined tube is a tube type where there is a fin that serves as a more effective heat exchanger. From the results of optimization by using twisted tape that has been done obtained the overall heat transfer coefficient is more optimal.
