Abstract

PT PAL INDONESIA as a domestic shipyard with world-class is still improving its productivity.
Background of the study is that the targeted production output has not been attained yet. The current study is
about a simulation model of optimum ship production at PT PAL Indonesia using SiMPLE++. It started with
the most significant parameters which influence throughput of the assembly shop. In SiMPLE ++, work
scenarios are made. They are Overtime, Run-Satsun and Extra Shift which were combined into 18 scenarios
and each run with 5 replications. Output of the simulation were analyzed using Analysis of Variance
(ANOV A) which was displayed into main effect plot and interaction plot. The Main effect plot shows that
the most significant factor intluencing•the assembly shop output is EXTRA SHIFT. It is indicated by the
biggest throughput change when the E?Ctra shift parameter is changed from No extrashift into Extra second
Shift. Average late of No extrashift is 658 block while Extra second Shift is 469 block. Based on this study,
the best production scenario with criteria of Late block and Building cost (Multi Criteria) is 1_5 - SatSunShift2,
that is with Overtime of 1,5 hour, working Saturday and Sunday and extra second shift.
