Abstract

Pembakaran sampah plastik non-reusable dengan menggunakan insinerator dapat menghasilkan emisi gas yang berbahaya bagi lingkungan. Emisi gas tersebut dapat di atasi dengan menggunakan teknologi pengendali pencemaran udara berupa wet scrubber. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menentukan pengaruh variasi ukuran media packing, ketebalan media packing dan bentuk media packing terhadap efisiensi penurunan emisi dari insinerator pembakaran sampah non-reusable. Wet scrubber yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini jenis countercurent packed colomn tower dengan two-stage packing.
Penelitian ini diawali dengan pembuatan desain wet scrubber. Terdapat tiga variasi penelitian yang dilakukan yaitu variasi bentuk media packing, ukuran media packing dan tebal packing. Bentuk media packing divariasikan menjadi dua yaitu kelereng dan pipa PVC. Variasi ukuran dilakukan berdasarkan bentuk media, untuk kelereng yang digunakan yaitu 1 cm , 1,5 cm dan 2 cm sedangkan untuk pipa PVC ukuran yang digunakan yaitu ½ inci, ¾ inci dan 1 inci. Variasi ketebalan media yaitu 20 cm - 20 cm, 25 cm - 25 cm dan 30 cm - 30 cm. Parameter yang diukur adalah kandungan emisi gas NO2, CO, CO2 dan SO2 pada input dan output wet scrubber serta suhu pada inlet scrubber. Data hasil penelitian akan dianalisa dengan menggunakan uji kruskal wallis test dan mann-whitney u untuk mengetahui hubungan variabel dan parameter yang digunakan.
Hasil yang didapatkan dari penelitian ini berupa suatu hubungan yang ditampilkan dalam bentuk grafik antara variabel bentuk media, ukuran media dan ketebalan media dengan parameter uji. Bentuk media, ukuran media dan ketebalan media tidak keseluruhan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap nilai efisiensi removal emisi gas. Media kelereng memiliki nilai efisinsi terbesar dibandingakan dengan media pipa PVC. Ukuran media kelereng 1 cm memiliki nilai efisiensi penurunan gas tertinggi yaitu SO2 (27,04 %), NO2 (21,847%), CO (18,179%) dan CO2 (6,8%). Sedangkan ketebalan yang memiliki nilai efisiensi tertinggi adalah 30 cm – 30 cm, dengan nilai efisiensi penurunan gas SO2 (57,68 %), NO2 (15,6%), CO (15,2 %) dan CO2 (7,3%).

Burning non-reusable plastic waste using incinerators can produce gas emissions that are harmful to the environment. These gas emissions can be overcome by using air pollution control technology in the form of a wet scrubber. This research was conducted to determine the effect of variations in the size of packing media, thickness of media packing and the shape of media packing on the efficiency of emission reduction from non-reusable waste combustion incinerators. The wet scrubber used in this study was a type of countercurent packed column tower with two-stage packing.
This research begins with the making of a wet scrubber design. There are three variations of the research carried out, namely variations in the form of media packing, size of media packing and thickness of packing. The form of media packing is varied into two, namely marbles and PVC pipes. Size variations are carried out based on the shape of the media, for the marbles used which are 1 cm, 1.5 cm and 2 cm while for PVC pipes the size used is ½ inch, ¾ inch and 1 inch. Variations in media thickness are 20 cm - 20 cm, 25 cm - 25 cm and 30 cm - 30 cm. The parameters measured were the content of NO2, CO, CO2 and SO2 gases at the wet scrubber input and output and the temperature in the inlet scrubber. The research data will be analyzed using the Kruskal Wallis test and Mann-Whitney U test to find out the relationship between variables and parameters used.
The results obtained from this study in the form of a relationship that is displayed in the form of a graph between the variables of media form, media size and thickness of the media with test parameters. The shape of the media, the size of the media and the overall media thickness have no significant effect on the value of gas emission removal efficiency. The marbles media have the largest efisinsi value compared to PVC pipe media. The size of 1 cm marbles media has the highest efficiency in reducing gas, namely SO2 (27.04%), NO2 (21.847%), CO (18.179%) and CO2 (6.8%). While the thickness that has the highest efficiency value is 30 cm - 30 cm, with the efficiency of decreasing SO2 gas (57.68%), NO2 (15.6%), CO (15.2%) and CO2 (7.3%).
