Abstract

Kurangnya fasilitas riset kelautan yang dimiliki oleh lembaga pelaku riset kelautan di Indonesia mengakibatkan terabaikan nya sumber riset kelautan di Indonesia. Sedangkan, laut-laut di Indonesia yang luas dan beragam menjadi potensi yang besar dalam riset kelautan. Kapal riset yang canggih merupakan moda yang efektif dalam meningkatkan kegiatan eksplorasi biota laut. Peningkatan sarana dan prasarana penelitian kelautan juga bersinergi dengan rencana strategis Kementrian Riset Teknologi dan Pendidikan Tinggi (Kemenristekdikti) periode tahun 2015-2019. Ditargetkan untuk dapat mengolah sumber daya laut hayati di Indonesia dengan keragaman tinggi hingga tahun 2020. Untuk memenuhi tujuan kapal riset memperoleh hasil ilmiah dengan jumlah terbanyak, kapal harus serbaguna dan memberikan luas maksimum keruangan yang tersedia untuk fasilitas ilmiah. Proses desain dilakukan dengan menggunakan pertimbangan hasil analisis dari desain-desain kapal riset yang sudah berhasil. Didukung dengan studi-studi mengenai lambung kapal riset dari segi perkapalan. Selain itu, karakteristik Laut Banda dan perairan domestik di Indonesia yang relatif dalam dijadikan batasan dalam proses desain agar kapal dapat berfungsi tepat sasaran. Dimana kedalaman laut berperan untuk menentukan kebutuhan macam-macam peralatan, ilmuwan, jangkauan, dan daya tahan yang dibutuhkan. Kemampuan kapal multi-purpose research vessel (MPRV) dikembangkan untuk memenuhi keragaman jenis riset yang ada. Dari proses desain, dihasilkan kapal MPRV yang serbaguna yang dapat beradaptasi sesuai dengan kebutuhan riset secara lengkap. Kapal MPRV diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pengembangan riset di Indonesia. Dari proses desain, didapat juga dimensi ukuran kapal multi-purpose research vessel, yaitu: Lpp = 78 m, B =12 m, H = 7 m, T= 5 m.

Oceanographic research resources in Indonesia is quite neglected still. The problem is caused by the lacking of research fleet’s ability and quantity available. In addition to that, research process is challenged by the depth and vastness of Indonesian ocean. Sophisticated research vessel is the most effective mode to improve marine exploration. Procuring research facilities is synergized with Ministry of Research Technology and Higher Education’s (Kemenristekdikti) strategy in 2015-2019. Aimed to capture massive amount of marine resources until upcoming year of 2020. The economics of oceanographic research demand that in order to obtain the greatest amount of scientific return the vessel must be versatile and provide the maximum amount of its available space for the scientific facilities. Design process is solved by using analysis from previous successful research vessel designs. Based by various research vessel’s hull studies from naval architecture views. Furthermore, considering the depth of Banda Sea and other domestic seas in Indonesia as a design boundary is used for the design to be appropriate. The overall characteristics of a research vessel will be determined by its intended use on the sea, which will identify the equipment and scientists necessary and the range and endurance required. Multi-purpose research vessels (MPRV) is developed to provide the diverse kind of research, since the vessel versatility enable adapting it to its needs. MPRV is expected to reimprove the development of marine research in Indonesia. Of the design process, obtained Multi-purpose research vessel dimensions namely; Lpp = 78 m, B = 12 m, D = 7 m, T = 5 m.
