Abstract

Korosi merupakan fenomena alam yang sering terjadi
pada dunia industri minyak dan gas. Pada lingkungan industri
khususnya pada bagian konstruksi, instalasi, saluran transportasi
terkandung unsur-unsur yang mampu mempercepat terjadinya
reaksi oksidasi pada suatu material. Inhibitor dapat menghambat
atau memperlambat suatu reaksi kimia atau dengan kata lain
mampu memperlambat laju korosi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini
adalah untuk mempelajari pengaruh ekstrak daun pandan wangi
(Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb.) yang mengandung antioksidan
sebagai inhibitor dalam media korosif NaCl dan H2SO4.
Dalam penelitian ini digunakan baja karbon API 5L
Grade B dengan media korosif H2SO4 1 M dan NaCl 3,5 %
dengan variasi konsentrasi dari ekstrak daun pandan wangi 0
mg/L, 100 mg/L, 200 mg/L, 300 mg/L, 400 mg/L dan 500 mg/L.
Pada hasil pengujian menunjukkan adanya senyawa flavonoid
pada ekstrak daun pandan wangi dan laju korosi turun seiring
dengan penambahan inhibitor. Laju korosi menurun pada larutan
NaCl 3,5 % yaitu sebesar 1,038 mpy. Untuk larutan H2SO4 1M
laju korosi menurun sebesar 901,048 mpy. Efisiensi inhibitor
tertinggi yang didapatkan di larutan NaCl 3,5 % yaitu sebesar
75,101 %. Untuk di larutan H2SO4 1M efisiensi inhibitor tertinggi
yaitu sebesar 60,365 %.

Corrosion is a natural phenomenon that often occurs in
the oil and gas industry. In industrial environments, especially in
the construction, installation, transport channels contained
elements that are able to accelerate the oxidation reaction on a
material. Inhibitors can inhibit or slow down a chemical reaction,
or in other words able to slow the rate of corrosion. The purpose
of this research is to study the effect of leaves extract fragrant
pandan (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb.). That contain
antioxidants as inhibitors in the corrosive medium NaCl and
H2SO4.
This study used carbon steel API 5L Grade B with
corrosive media H2SO4 1 M NaCl and 3.5% with variation of
concentration of fragrant pandan leaf extract 0 mg / L, 100 mg /
L, 200 mg / L, 300 mg / L, 400 mg / L and 500 mg / L. In the test
results indicate the presence of flavonoid compounds in fragrant
pandan leaves extract and corrosion rate decrease with the
addition of inhibitors. Corrosion rate decreased to 3.5% NaCl
solution is equal to 1.038 mpy. To a solution of 1M H2SO4
corrosion rate decreased by 901.048 mpy. The highest inhibitor
efficiency obtained in 3.5% NaCl solution that is equal to
75.101%. 1M H2SO4 solution for at the highest inhibitor
efficiency is equal to 60.365%.
