ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk membuat material
komposit gypsum berpenguat serat alam sebagai penyerap
suara. Permasalahan yang dikaji adalah untuk mengetahui
hubungan kombinasi serat ampas tebu dan serat bambu betung
bermatriks gypsum pada komposit terhadap nilai koefisien
absorpsi suara, kekuatan tekan, dan kekuatan lenturnya.
Perbandingan yang digunakan adalah Vf 30, 50 dan 70 %
gypsum dengan panjang serat 40 mm. Tujuannya untuk
mendapatkan komposit dengan nilai koefisien absorpsi suara
yang memenuhi standar ISO 11654. Metode yang digunakan
adalah hand lay up. Metode pengujian berdasarkan standart
ASTM E1050, ASTM D790 dan ASTM D695. Dari hasil
pengujian didapatkan nilai koefisien absorpsi suara dari ketiga
parameter memenuhi standar ISO 11654 dengan nilai koefisien
α lebih dari 0,15. Pada komposisi Vf 70% gipsum didapatkan
hasil terbaik dengan nilai kekuatan lentur 2,00 MPa dan
kekuatan tekan 6,05 MPa.

This research was done to make gypsum composite
fiber reinforced material to be a sound absorbing material. The
problems studied was to understand the relation between the
combination of bagasse and betung bamboo’s fiber with
gypsum on the sound absorption coefficient value (α),
compression strength, and bending strength. The composition
used by is 30, 50, and 70% volume Gypsum and the length size
of the fiber used was 40 mm. The aim was to get a good
correlation between sound absorption coefficient value,
bending strength, compression strength with given composition
of fibers and its application as sound absorbing material
according to ISO 11654 standard. Method used to made the
composite was stamp sheet. Methods of testing were in
accordance to ASTM E1050, ASTM D790 and ASTM D695
standards. From the results, obtained that the sound
absorption coefficient value from three variables met the ISO
11654 standard with coefficient α value bigger than 0,15. On
Vf 70% gypsum composition has the best value of bending
strength at 2,00 MPa and the compression strength at 6,05
MPa.
