Abstract

°C. Serbuk hasil kalsinasi dikarakterisasi menggunakan XRD
dimana data dianalisis menggunakan metode Rietveld melalui
perangkat lunak Rietica. Selanjutnya, analisis ukuran kristal
dilakukan dengan pengujian TEM. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan
hematit murni (Fe2O3) dicapai setelah semua proses kalsinasi.

Synthesis of Fe2O3 nanoparticles based on local iron stone
from Tanah Laut, South Kalimantan has been performed with a
coprecipitation method. The synthesis started by dissolving the
bulk iron stone into HCl at a temperature of 70 °C for 1 hour,
followed by filtering. The solution was further diluted with
distilled water to obtain a pH of 1 and precipitated using NH4OH
to obtain a pH of 3, 5 and 7. The results of the process ware then
dried at 100 °C. The dried powders were calcined at 500 °C, 800
° C and 1100 °C. The calcined powders were characterized using
XRD where the data were analyzed using the Rietveld method
through Rietica software. Furthermore, the crystal size analysis
was performed by TEM examination. Results showed pure
hematite (Fe2O3) was achieved after the all calcination processes.
The crystallite size of hematite was about 30 nm for pH 3 sample
and about 10 nm for pH 7 sample.
