Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian mengenai analisis pengaruh pemberian
kupasan jacket dan cladding pada serat optik plastik mode jamak
tipe FD-620-10 terhadap perubahan suhu dengan menggunakan
detektor silikon dan BF5R-D1-N. Penelitian dilakukan dengan
tujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kenaikan suhu terhadap loss
pada serat optik plastik dan mengetahui kemampuan detektor
silikon dan BF5R-D1-N dalam pengukuran tegangan dan intensitas
pada variasi panjang kupasan. Variasi panjang kupasan yang
digunakan adalah 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, dan 80 mm. Pengukuran
dilakukan pada range suhu 30ºC - 75ºC dengan pengambilan data
setiap kenaikan 1ºC. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semakin
tinngi suhu di daerah sensing, semakin besar loss yang terjadi
akibat adanya pemuaian termal di daerah sensing yang
menyebabkan penurunan indeks bias core. Detektor silikon
mampu mendeteksi perubahan intensitas cahaya dan bekerja
optimal pada serat optik dengan panjang kupasan 80 mm BF5RD1-
N dapat merespon perubahan intensitas cahaya dan bekerja
optimal pada serat optik dengan panjang kupasan 30 mm.

Research about analysis the effect of stripping and changing of temperature to the intensity emitted by multimode plastic optical fiber type fd-620-10 was proposed. Silicon detector and BF5R-D1-N were used as the measuring instrument. The jacket and cladding of this plastic optical fiber were stripped by varying the length of stripping, which are 30mm, 40mm, 50mm, 60mm, 70mm, and 80 mm. Under the temperature range of 30ºC until 75ºC, different reaction shown not only by different POF that depend on their length of stripping but also the difference of the measuring instrument. From this research, has been concluded that the higher the temperature around the sensing area, the more loss occured which is caused by the effect of decreasing the refractive index of core. Silicon detector was able to work optimally on a POF with the length of stripping 80 mm, meanwhile the BF5R-D1-N was able to work optimally on a POF with the length of stripping 30 mm.
