Abstract

Pemodelan kondisi operasi PVT injeksi uap pada proses
enhanced oil recovery diperlukan untuk memprediksi tekanan,
temperatur, dan besaran lainnya. Pemodelan ini dilakukan agar dapat
menentukan kualitas steam dan kesuksesan enhanced oil recovery dalam
tingkat produktifitas minyak yang dapat di produksi kembali serta
meminimalisir biaya. Pada tugas akhir ini, dilakukan pemodelan kondisi
operasi pressure dan temperature menggunakan metode lattice
Boltzmann dan perangkat lunak COMSOL. Pressure dan temperature
outlet diprediksi untuk dapat mengetahui penurunan pressure atau
temperature yang terjadi pada batuan. Langkah awal yang dilakukan
adalah pemodelan dengan menggunakan lattice Boltzmann, dimana
bentuk rectangle dipergunakan dan tiap node diberikan distribusi fungsi.
Selanjutnya dilakukan pemodelan dengan menggunakan perangkat
lunak COMSOL, perangkat lunak ini menggunakan hukum darcy yang
terintegrasi di dalamnya. Langkah terakhir adalah memvalidasi
pemodelan dengan eksperimen yang dilakukan di laboratoritum
Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS dengan menggunakan steam injector
dan batuan Berea sandstone, yang memiliki permeabilitas 1250mD dan
porosity 0.22. Hasil yang didapatkan dari kedua metode ini yaitu besar
pressure outlet dan temperature outlet yang dibandingkan dengan outlet
eksperimen. Besar outlet dari metode dan eksperimen yang sudah
didapat dicari nilai root mean square error (RMSE). RSME ini yang
dijadikan patokan agar model ini dapat dikatakan valid atau tidak untuk
proses steam injection.

Steam Injection PVT operating condition modeling in enhanced
oil recovery process is needed to perform pressure, temperature, and
other physical variable prediction. This model was created to determine
steam quality and success rate of enhanced oil recovery in oil
productivity rate and minimize the cost. In this final undergraduate
thesis, the operating condition of pressure and temperature utilized
lattice boltzmann method and COMSOL software. Pressure and
temperature outlet was predicted to understand the pressure drop or
decreasing temperature that happened in the reservoir. The first step
that performed in this final thesis is modeling using lattice boltzmann,
where rectangle form utilized and distribution function is given to each
node. Then, modeling performed using COMSOL software, this software
utilized Darcy’s law that has been integrated inside the software. Last
step is modeling validation with experiment that performed in
laboratory of Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS using steam injector and
Berea sandstone that has permeability of 1250mD and porosity 0,22.
The result that achieved from these two methods are pressure and
temperature outlet that compared with experiment result. Root mean
square error (RMSE) is analyzed based on the result that achieved from
experiment and methods. This RMSE used as foundation for the
validation model with experiment.
