Abstract

Kompos adalah salah satu pupuk organik yang dibuat
dari degradasi bahan organik. Salah satu mikroorganisme yang
berperan dalam degradasi senyawa organik adalah Azotobacter.
Beberapa isolat Azotobacter yang diisolasi dari lahan Eco Urban
Farming ITS mampu mendegradasi karbohidrat, lipid dan
protein, namun potensi Azotobacter tersebut belum diujikan
apakah dapat digunakan sebagai agen composting. Penelitian
bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah konsorsium Azotobacter
dapat berperan sebagai agen composting.
Antar isolat A1b, A3, A6, A9 dan A10 diuji sinergisme
pada media agar cawan, selanjutnya dibuat kurva pertumbuhan,
penyiapan inokulan dan media kompos, pencampuran inokulan
kompos, analisa maturasi kompos, perhitungan kepadatan sel,
dan analisis nitrat, fosfat dan kalium tersedia.
Kompos terbentuk setelah 4 minggu inkubasi dengan
tekstur remah, warna coklat kehitaman dan berbau tanah.
Nutrien makro N, P, K pada kompos yang tertinggi adalah nitrat
6,0 %, fosfat terlarut 4,6 %, dan kalium 1,3 %.

Compost is one of organic fertilizer that made from organic
compound degradation. One of microorganism that has role in
organic compound degradation is Azotobacter. Some of
Azotobacter isolated from ITS Eco Urban Farming able to
degrade carbohydrate, lipid, protein, however, those Azotobacter
potency still studied in individual isolat. The purpose of this
reseach is to know that Azotobacter whether consortiumed can
take in role as organic waste composting agent.
This research carried out with consortium of Azotobacter
sinergism test in plate agar medium, made growth curve,
preparing of compost inoculan and compost medium, analysis of
compost ripeness, counting of cell density, and analysis of nitrate,
phosphate and potassium.
Compost was forming after 4 weeks of incubation with
crumb texture, blackish brown colour and soil smell. Macro
nutrient N, P, K of compost which the highest is nitrate 6,0 %; 4,6
% phosphat; and 1,3 % potassium.
