Abstract

jenis tension leg platform (TLP).
mengenai “Analytical solution of mean top tension of long flexible riser in modelling
sedangkan untuk variasi kecepatan arus (U) adalah 0,05 m/s ; 0,1 m/s ; 0,15 m/s ; 0,2 m/s ;
0,25 m/s ; 0,3 m/s ; 0,35 m/s ; 0,4 m/s ; 0,45 m/s ; 0,5 m/s ; 0,55 m/s ; 0,6 m/s ; 0,65 m/s ;
0,7 m/s ; 0.75 m/s ; 0.8 m/s ; 0.85 m/s ; 0.9 m/s ; 0.95 m/s ; 1 m/s.
=======================================================================================================
This final assignment will contain top tension analysis on a frlexible long riser. Riser with
this type usually used on Tension Leg Platform (TLP). Riser data used in this assisgment is
Huarte’s (2006) riser model data as appears on his thesis. Analysis will be performed with
manual calculation using equotations on Jijun Gu et al journal titled “Analytical solution of
mean top tension of long flexible riser in modelling vortex-induced vibration” and orcaflex
9.2a software and the results will be validated with Huarte’s (2006) experiment result data
and manual calculation on the journal m mentioned previously. Variations used on this top
tension analysis are initial tension variation (Tint) and curent velocity (U). There are 4
variation of initial tension (Tint) which are 810 N, 1172 N, 1538 N and 1922 N while for
current velocity (U) there are 0,05 m/s ; 0,1 m/s ; 0,15 m/s ; 0,2 m/s ; 0,25 m/s ; 0,3 m/s ;
0,35 m/s ; 0,4 m/s ; 0,45 m/s ; 0,5 m/s ; 0,55 m/s ; 0,6 m/s ; 0,65 m/s ; 0,7 m/s ; 0.75 m/s ;
0.8 m/s ; 0.85 m/s ; 0.9 m/s ; 0.95 m/s ; 1 m/s. top tension value will be compared with
reduced velocity (Vt) for each value of current velocity (U). Calculations on this final
assignment shows that Mean top tension values are between 810, N until1263,04 N
(analytical)and 803,79N until 1335,43 N (numerical) for every Tint = 810 N top tension
variations; Mean top tension values are between 1176,98 N until1540,97 N(analytical)
and between 1176,98 until 1335,43 N (numerical) for every Tint = 1172 N toptension
variations; Mean top tension values are between 1539,99 N and 1841,22 N (analytical)
and between 1130,91 until1865,071 N (numerical) for every Tint = 1538 N top tension
variations; Mean top tension values are between 1922,002 N and 2176,65 N and between
1915,017 until2203,15 N (numerical)for every Tint = 1922 N top tension variations.
Meanwhile from the comparison graph between top tension and reduced velocity (Vt)
from three used methods have same trendline that proves the methods are valid. Top
tension values acquired from Orcaflex 9.2a software tend to be smaller than the values
acquired experiment and manual method. Some factor that can affect the difference of the
results are changing natural frequency (fn) value on experiment model, experiment
environment, and long riser model on Orcaflex 9.2a software.
